I'm making a very tediously funded trip up to NYC in a few short months, and am dying to see a new show. Here's the kicker, folks: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels or Sweet Charity? I'd love to see both, and probably will get the chance to see the other in the early summer but I cannot decide. They both look amazing! Thoughts, suggestions, anyone seen either?

hmm if I were in your position I would choose Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

Only because I love the cast. And the music sounds fantastic!!

"It's a great feeling of power to be naked in front of people. We're happy to watch actual incredible graphic violence and gore, but as soon as somebody's naked it seems like the public goes a bit bananas about the whole thing."

"At the opening night party, they had clowns on stilts, jugglers, a chocolate fountain, popcorn, hot dogs. [My son] looked at me like I had been holding back. Like, 'This is what you do?' I had to tell him, 'No, no, darling. Opening nights don't usually look like this.' It's usually a dark bar with a bottle of vodka." ?Chitty Chitty Bang Bang's Jan Maxwell plus i proudly share the title of the shortest member over the age of 10 with wickedrentq!

Although Sweet Smell of Success was not critically received, I loved Lithgow and would love to see him again.

Sweet Charity. It's fun. There's a lot of dancing.

DRS - for all we know could be a flop.

"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

Justice - you are correct. That is the risk of any new show, but I assume with the actors involved that at a minimum there will be great performances.

From what I hear both shows are getting great out of town reviews...actually not sure about sweet charity, but people have extremely high hopes for it. Im seeing both so...all i know is Sweet Charity has great music and Christina seems very good.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels- it has Norbert and Sherie and Joanna!

What could be better?

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. No contest! Can't go wrong with Lithgow, Butz, Gleason, Scott, Yazbek, and O'Brien!

Praying Decca Broadway will put "Don't Bother Me, I Can't Cope" on CD!

Oh yeah, I forgot about David Yazbek and Jack O'Brien. I absolutely LOVED the Full Monty. I'm glad that Patrick Wilson has become so popular lately.

I'm going to say Dirty Rotten Scoundrels because I too love the cast. Although if it turns out anything like Sweet Smell of Success (my least favorite show of all time), I would say Sweet Charity.

If you wanna see a classic. No doubt catch Sweet Charity.

If you wanna see a new, fresh, modern show. See DRS.

If it were me, I would see Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. The old movie was fun, and the cast for the show is amazing! It could be a flop, true, but it could be at very least a fun night of theater! Plus, Sweet Charity doesn't interest me much, to be honest with you.

But now we have come almost to the end. One last step. And then, when I take power, they will be pulled down and ground into dirt for what they did to you. And what they did in so contemptuously underestimating me.

My friend saw DRS in San Diego and said it wasn't that great. She also said everyone kept messing up their lines! I hope they have them down by now. I was thinking of seeing the show while its in previews in Feb.

I really can't choose for you, because I'm having the same dilema. However they are quit different so just ask yourself what you're in the mood for. Sweet charity focus more on Singing and Dancing while DRS focuses more on comedy.

"Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" is the best bet. How can you pass up a show that stars John, Nobert, Sherie, Joanna, Gregory, and Sara?

After all of the bad blood and endless development-not to mention the thousand actresses who have been attached (Jenna Elfman, who can't sing; Marisa Tomei, who can't sing or dance; Jane Krakowski, who would have been perfect (f*ck u, neil!); and now, Christina 'little voice' Applegate), I'm gonna skip "Sweet Charity".
