Two weeks only! I'm going to try and make it before it moves on. Anyone going?

I am convinced that I'll never see a show at the Pantages again actually due to my budding hatred of Ticketmaster.
I started to get tickets to Little Women last week with the $21.25 discount code. Two tickets came out to $59.75. There were over $16.00 in service charges.
Last night I decided that I might get rear mezz seats for tonight's performance and there was over $10.00 in service charges PER TICKET.
The $8.75 "Convenience Charge" really irritates me and I never complete a purchase at Ticketmaster. I am still trying to figure out exactly who that fee is convenient for - it sure as hell isn't me.
Anyone know if they charge those insane fees at the box office?
Sorry for the slight thread jack.
If you haven't seen Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Norbert's performance is not to be missed. It's absolutely top notch and hysterical. Go see it if you can get past the service charges.

Posted: 8/15/06 at 10:50amI got tickets on Goldstar for the 23rd for about 47 dollars, including the service charge. That seemed much more palatable than what Ticketmaster charges. The service charges annoy me as well!

Patronus, those charges are painful, aren't they? YIKES! I'm lucky to live so close to the Pantages. In fact, where I'm working now is walking distance so I always go to the box office. I hope you find a resonable solution to getting tickets.
YWIW??? I'll probably try seeing what seats they have on Sunday if I can. Otherwise, it'll have to be a spontaneous drive up after work next week.

Posted: 8/15/06 at 11:39amI'm assuming the same thing applies in LA as NY, Patronus--the service charges all go away when you purchase the tickets at the box office. Except for the $1.25 fee that I don't know what that is for.

Getting to the Pantages Box Office from other parts of LA is not exactly an easy thing to do WRQ. It may end up costing you as much in time and driving frustration as the Ticketmaster service fees!

I'm going next week! I got my tickets through GoldStar for half price! I saw this in NY, and CANNOT wait to see Norbert again! I will be stalking him at the stage door (I've already warned my girlfriends they have to stage door with me at this one!) Check Gold Star events to see if they still have half price tickets.
I just checked at www.goldstarevents.com and the half price tickets are sold out....sorry! This is a GREAT resource for cheap tickets for theater. Not as good as the Hot Tix deal for the Ahmanson, but still better than Ticketmaster. I've always had good seats at GREAT prices

I would like to have seen Butz but I won't get conned (appropriate to the show) into buying a second ticket after he was out the night I went to see it in New York a few months ago. Flying to NYC to see a few shows, and definitely getting a ticket based on friends raves about him in the show, and then no Butz. Pryce by himself trying to be funny was unfunny. If I were to get a free ticket to the Pantages production, I would probably go, but at this point even if I knew he would be I wouldn't BUY another ticket.

Yes, I use GoldStar quite often actually. You can get some great seats for the smaller theatre venues. However, even at half price I don't think I'd pay $41.00 to see DRS again to be honest. The show was enjoyable and Nobert was fantastic. I may head over to the box office one night this week to see if I can get some of the $21 rear mezz seats just to have something to do, but I didn't love the show enough (Sorry, WRQ/Jbaraites) to justify dropping nearly $100 total on it again.

Hugely excited for this, though I won't get to see it until next Thursday. Reports please from those of you who go!
Usually you can still walk up on the day of the show and get tickets at the Pantages box office - its so big that there's usually always something still available... just an option to avoid Ticketmaster fees. They're ridiculous.

DAME - wow, well that WOULD be spontaneous. HAHA Wasn't planning on trying tonight but if I get out in time and one of my coworkers wants to come with me I'll let you know.
EDIT: Found an enthusiastic and willing coworker. We'll see what time we are done here and hopefully there will be some tickets left. And this, ladies and gents, is how L.A. theater-goers end up seeing shows in jeans. DOH!

Ok...Patronus...let me rephrase:
I will be patiently waiting at the stage door to kindly ask him to sign my Last Five Years CD, and ask him if I can get a picture (since my camera malfunctioned in New York). Stalking isn't my forte.
Good luck, Popular. I hope you two get in! Please give us a full report and ENJOY!!!

Please don't stalk Norbert. No one likes that.
Anyway, please post those reviews and if you get any pics with the Norbster, please send it to the official NLB Fanbase (myspace.com/norbertleobutzonline.com) :)
