I MET NORBERT LEO BUTZ!!!!!!!!!!
THIS WEEKEND, WAS THE BEST EVER!! WELL.. TODAY MADE THE WHOLE WEEKEND SPECIAL!
One of the best ever!!! I met Norbert Leo Butz.... I got to go beyond the stage doors.
He was doing Dirty Rotten Scoundrels in Houston, and I went this afternoon to see it.. my tickets were AWESOME!!! Row H Center 110 and 111 and I went right after the musical was over.. I missed him, and I waited there for two hours, but the cop told me he was gone already.
I was like.. oh ok.. And then they told me that he usually comes out early.. And I was like Ok I am determined but ok.. Sooo I left my house at 9pm and I went first off the parking attendant was like oh, you don't have to pay I will let you in.. So that was 6 dollars back to me.. And then I waited, and waited.. AND WAITED.. The musical was still going on and I was on the phone with Liz for 45 mins and then I got off with her and went to go talk to the security gaurd and the cop that was there this afternoon was like..
She's back, she was waiting for two hours this afternoon, and now again.. Well the security gaurd and I talked about it and he was like wow your a dedicated fan, and I was like but see this would be great to me.. And we talked some more and then when all of these girls were like.. Norbert Leo Butz! OMG! About 10 minutes before he came out the security gaurd was like come with me.. I was like what!? And he was like come with me.. I was like.. ok... AND HE TOOK ME INTO THE BACKSTAGE DOOR!!!!
And so I talked with Norbert and he was like I am so so sorry.. I am sorry I didn't get it to you before, and I was like no it's ok I am sorry I should have gotten out here earlier.. And he was like no I am the one to apologize I had to go.. SOOOOO I was like.. blushing and he signed playbills for me and some pictures when he was Fiyero, and took pictures with me!!! AHHH I am writing him a letter thanking him for making my weekend more special.
I am like now a pro at backstaging. The cop, and security gaurd were able to tell I am a theageek.. Because I was naming everything he did, and stuff like that, and then I was like saying other things. And tomorrow I am going back to the theatre, because I have a highly possible chance to meet Her Majesty Queen Noor of Jordan.

I didn't understand the 5th paragraph.
Otherwise, I'm glad you got to see Norbert!

That is cool that you were able to meet Norbert Leo Butz. He truly is awesome. It really makes the show more enjoyable when you are able to meet the cast afterwards. I was not able to meet him when I saw him this past tuesday in Houston. My friends and I did not think about it until it was too late and we were already driving home.
How was his last show here in Houston?

Is English perhaps your second, third, or fourth language?

Answering both in the same reply...
COOOOLkid - Fifth paragraph.. Sorry I am still on my high from this evening.. I am going to try my hardest at back staging now.. See I figured.. I got beyond the doors of the back stage, I mayyy have luck in doing it fo Wicked too but who knows.. And that I am going back to the theatre tomorrow because the Queen of Jordan is going to be there and I might have a chance in actually talking to her.
BroadwayRandy0711 - It was beautiful! I seriously don't remember a time that I had laughed like that in forever. The whole first act I was laughing my ass off. Everything was well put together, lights, scenes, props, a work of art. It made me want to jump into my career even faster.
He was on fire with everything, dancing, acting, singing, all of it. He sounded 100% better from the OBC cd I believe if I am not mistaken sorry if I am but he was the only one there from the OBC and with his voice alone the powerful sensation of it all the might he had for as little as he is you can tell he had been saving everything up until the last performance to give it his all.
He and Tom Hewitt.. I think.. Had to shut the whole lower orchestra up because in the scene where they are in the lawn chairs relaxing we thought that it was over so Nobert used his hands as the "cutting your head off movement" to get us to shut up sit down and continue to watch the rest of the musical.

No sorry I am just hyper and everything is jumbled you have no right to be rude. I was just trying to share my excitement with fellow theatre lovers no need to crash my spirits.
And Liz is my girl friend..

Posted: 10/2/06 at 3:14amYes, I know sorry, I am not good at giving reviews, I just like to say how much I enjoy it and things like that. I tried my hardest to take some pictures during the musical but my best friend was right beside me so I wasn't able to do so.

Can I ask a SPOILER question about the tour please? Does Christne climb out of the orchestra pit? Also is the seat that is mentioned still J 13? And if J 13 is on the other side of the house, does the usher point that way?
Thanks,
Marshall

Teenage fandom lol. Glad you enjoyed the show.
P.S. Can't we all just let Norbert forget he was in Wicked? (No qualms about the show but some obsessed Wicked fangirls are beyond scary... - Not directed at you Obsessed)

Posted: 10/2/06 at 4:40pmI don't think that you'll become an expert at "backstaging." That was a very nice thing for the security guard to take you backstage. Don't take advantage of it and expect every person to do the same. 'Cause they aren't going to. Updated On: 10/2/06 at 04:40 PM

Sir, I don't think Norbert's kids will be very happy if we forget his Wicked experience.
But I forgot already. What show was he in again?

Posted: 10/2/06 at 7:42pmI like read this and was all like OMG like this person must be like a complete wierdo. And like that cop, he called him/her like a "fan" and I'm like...that's so not the word I would use, I would totally like use the word "freak" instead...yeah, like.

Posted: 10/3/06 at 1:05amI won't pretend to know what Norbert thinks but I'd imagine he would like to be remembered more as Freddy Benson or Jamie Wellerstein than Fiyero Tiggular. Heck, even Camielle Raquin.

****The following is a spoiler to the musical DRS. Read at your own risk.****
MARWAY - Christine does still come out of the orchestra. At the performance in Houston, the usher did point in the correct location. Hopefully this helps you.

Posted: 10/3/06 at 5:18pmTo me it seemed like she was coming out twice, either that or it was the usher who was singing like she did in the beginning.

SPOILER>>> Thank you both for sharing the answers to my questions. I always like to see how a tour version adapts certain parts. I notice in many big theatres the orchestra pit is very high so I was curious if she would climb out of it. If I can secure good seats, I will see the tour when it arrives in Hartford.
Thanks again, and may I say the BroadwayWorld users are the best, and most knowledgeable about our passion...The THEATRE!
