I’ll be in NYC at the end of June and have been holding off on buying tickets for some shows to wait and see if discounts would arise. I know this is a tricky time for advance discounts because it’s after Tony time – for “Something Rotten!” and “Hand to God,” their current discounts end right at the day of the Tony’s. In the past, have the announcement of the Tony nominations prompted shows to extend discount dates passed the Awards?
I’m specifically eyeing the following shows:
"Hand to God”
“Something Rotten!”
“The Visit”
“Finding Neverland”
I assume “Finding Neverland” might be the one I will have to bite the bullet for and buy full-price before any of the others (I imagine it will do fairly well, financially, no matter the reviews or nominations).
I would think both “Hand to God” and “The Visit,” even if they each get a slew of Tony noms, might still need discounts out there to fill up the house, but is it likely they will put those discounts out passed Tony night?
I assume “Something Rotten!,” depending on reviews and how many Tony nominations they get, will wait to see if they win Best Musical (assuming they are nominated) or not before putting out more discounts.
I’d rather have the tickets bought before the Tony’s, so I’m trying to gage which of these shows might extend discounts past the Tony’s before the Tony’s actually happen (otherwise, I’d rather just bite the bullet now and secure tickets for these shows).

I'm in the exact same boat as you in regards to Something Rotten and Hand to God. If anyone has input on this, I'd also love to know.
It's very common that codes expire before the Tony noms. Many shows get an uptick if they get LOTS of noms....but the real deal is the win and how enticing the Tonys can make the show look.
I suggest that The Visit and Hand to God will both make discounts available shortly after the noms. FN is doing a great business regardless of the Tony noms -- so don't expect one, and SR is totally up in the air....based on reviews and noms it could go either way.
(All of the above is simply opinion.)
dramama, I never thanked you for your thoughts – so, thank you!
Also, wanted to mention that “Hand to God” now has a discount through July 26th for anyone else interested. Used the code and got 2 front row tickets:
