was also wondering if anyone forsees any hope for a Broadway transfer, now that plans are afoot for Children of Eden to finally bow on Broadway in 09. (a Pippin revival is also long overdue...)
Youve proberbly seen that its on Amazon as not available. The cover they show on there is different to the one i bought when the show opened. Good luck in your search, i paid a fortune for mine and that was when it was freely available. Last min thought- try Colony. I hate saying that word!
About 7 years ago, I saw it at Tower. Try Tower's online store. I do bet Colony or Footlight (online) would have it. It's worth the bother!

There is a German site called http://www.soundofmusic-shop.de/
You can view the site in English by clicking on the UK flag. I seem to recall they had copies of this cd and at much lower prices than you will get at Colony!
Dress Circle in London have a copy waiting for you! £18 -around $35. Well worth getting but i dont like this new CD cover

anyone think that the likelihood of the german production transferring to Broadway anytime soon? Especially now that disney has no future productions on the horizon, and the renewed interest in Schwarz - the ongoing success of WICKED and the broadway bow of CoE in 09?

i thought tower went bankrupt months and months ago???
You can download it from this (amazing) website: http://www.littlebroadwaycorner.blogspot.com. I know that it's someone who posts here on BWW who runs it.
brdwaybound, I don't know WHERE you got '09 from, pertaining to the CHILDREN OF EDEN Broadway production. It's just 'being discussed' right now - I don't want anyone being disappointed if it doesn't happen. Don't jump the gun too early with this, for all Schwartz's fans' sakes. (Admittedly, I'm not one of them, I just wanted to get the word out initially).
As for the HUNCHBACK B'way future... I HOPE SO.

After the trouble MERMAID is having out of town and TARZAN
(nuf said)
DISNEY would do better trying
SONG OF THE SOUTH
out of town
in ATLANTA
This is one Disney animation I wouldn't mind seeing on stage. The orchestration is glorius, the songs are beautiful and "Out There" is a stand out.
Come, come Curtain... Enough with being Debbie Downer, hmm?
Disney would be better bring this into the Lunt till they fix the mess that is Mermaid
Why am I not surprised they're talking this again?
Dennis DeYoung's absolutely beautiful version is starting to come back (Chicago's Bailiwick). THAT's the version that SHOULD come to Broadway. It is glorious!! (Saw it when the Tennessee Repertory Theatre did it a few years ago and was in total love with it.) The primary reason it got very little support then was because Disney was talking about "maybe" bringing their version.
Anytime another one starts showing signs of making it, Disney starts making noise about their version. I think I'm glad my sister's leaving there soon.
Jordangirl, what this other one you speak of?
Some info is here:

It is absolutely beautiful and based from the novel, NOT the animated version.
Here's info on the Bailiwick run:

The music is glorious and the staging is beautiful. The best thing the Tennessee Rep has done in a while. They actually premiered it back in 1997. The first time Disney was making noise about their version.

Looking now.

Hm, seems intriguing...
Either way, Hunchback is a great story that I think would do well on stage.

I think that the reason that they didn't bring hunchback to broadway is the same reson that they had to drastically change the dance of the vanpiers for broadway. This reason is that in Germany they have a better sense of stories and thinks that are more darker and gothic then in America. If you take a listen at a lot of the German punk music you would understand what it is I am saying.
Don't get me wrong. I am not at all trying to say that in America we cannot enjoy a scary story or come up with one. I am just saying that over there they have a taste for it that is not within most Americans comfort zones.
I have seen some clips online of the German Hunchback production. I personally wasn't bothered or freaked out by any of them. But, they were not the kind of stuff disney typically produces here. It was more darker then things tha they would do here. I think that they are worried that people would see that this is a disney show and take there young children to see it due to that fact. And when they get there and see the show they will realize that yes this is a disney show. But, disney is producing a show that is aimed towards the older crowed not five year olds who are being taken to their first show.
Correct me if I am wrong. But, wasn't there a west end production of a show that was based just on the book? I think it played at the Dimion theatre if I am not mistaken.
The London Production of Notre Dame de Paris (2000) which stared Tina Arena as Esmeralda.
There was also a production in Las Vegas in 2000 as well
"Live for the one i love" was the big hit from the show (Celine Dion recorded it )
Dannii Minogue later replaced Tina as Esmeralda in the london production
...and thats best forgotton! That production is available on DVD in a few different packages tho it is the French production.
