What a ****ty week across the board, save for a few of the hits/long-running shows… hopefully summer vacations/tourism/Tony Award Wins will stop the hemorrhaging at the box offices!!

1.) Is there any real shot of this being preserved with a cast recording, not that it deserves to be, but from a posteriority standpoint, I’d think the producers would want to record it to strengthen its future licensing prospects for regional/community/high schools…

2.) Given the enormous flop this was on Broadway, and the insane amount of money investors lost, is the plan still to send this show out on a non-equity tour?

Apparently lack of theatre and stiff competition heavily factored into the London Next to Normal Production ultimately deciding not to transfer this fall for a limited run…

I’m excited and kinda stunned by all these confirmed and talked about musical revivals next season. I’m also confused where exactly theatre-wise they all plan to land at… So far here’s what I’m aware of:

Laurie Metcalf (original Steppenwoolf member) would also slay as Violet Weston after Salesman wraps up! Though I’m sure she wants to take a much needed break!

How tragic! I hope they can get this under control ASAP, and that this historic theatre isn’t lost, and that Book of Mormon can continue running!! 😰

I continue to hope for a Bartlett Sher directed LCT revival starring Paulo Szot as Don Quixote, Kelli O’Hara as Aldonza, and Danny Burstein as Sancho Panza…

It’s really a shame HK couldn’t have announced this a few weeks earlier, and maybe Death of A Salesman could have switched theatres to the Shubert, and Mamma Mia! could have become an open ended run on Broadway, and they could have rehearsed and built a new tour…

It just opened last week with rave reviews, could the Off-Broadway revival of Putnam County Spelling Bee” transfer to Broadway this spring? It’s only on sale until April currently…
