Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 5/31/26

What a ****ty week across the board, save for a few of the hits/long-running shows… hopefully summer vacations/tourism/Tony Award Wins will stop the hemorrhaging at the box offices!!

Beaches reviews

1.) Is there any real shot of this being preserved with a cast recording, not that it deserves to be, but from a posteriority standpoint, I’d think the producers would want to record it to strengthen its future licensing prospects for regional/community/high schools…

2.) Given the enormous flop this was on Broadway, and the insane amount of money investors lost, is the plan still to send this show out on a non-equity tour?

26/27 Musical Revivals

Apparently lack of theatre and stiff competition heavily factored into the London Next to Normal Production ultimately deciding not to transfer this fall for a limited run…

26/27 Musical Revivals

I’m excited and kinda stunned by all these confirmed and talked about musical revivals next season. I’m also confused where exactly theatre-wise they all plan to land at… So far here’s what I’m aware of:

Come From Away: 25th Anniversary of 9/11 Production (unknown theatre)

Fiddler on the Roof (Regent’s Park London Transfer) (unknown theatre)

The Producers: West End Transfer (unknown theatre)

Phantom of the Opera: National Tour Limited 2027 Holiday Run (Majestic Theatre)

Sally Field play in the Fall

Laurie Metcalf (original Steppenwoolf member) would also slay as Violet Weston after Salesman wraps up! Though I’m sure she wants to take a much needed break!

Sally Field play in the Fall

I’m still hearing reports of a 16 week revival of August: OC…🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Eugene O’Neil Theatre on fire!!

Upgraded to a 3 alarm fire!! How sad 😰

Eugene O’Neil Theatre on fire!!

How tragic! I hope they can get this under control ASAP, and that this historic theatre isn’t lost, and that Book of Mormon can continue running!! 😰

FALLEN ANGELS Reviews

Any chance this production extends? Especially if it picks up a slew of Tony Noms on Tues? It doesn’t look like the Haimes has an immediate tenant…?

2026 Tony Host Rumors

I’d love to see Daniel Radcliffe and/or Jonathan Groff host!

2026-2027 Season Tour Launches

Is MJ the Musical no longer touring?

Prince of Egypt @ LCT

Could this turn into a fully staged new musical following the conclusion of Ragtime and before The Man of La Mancha revival @ The Vivian Beaumont?

LCT's MAN OF LA MANCHA Concert

I continue to hope for a Bartlett Sher directed LCT revival starring Paulo Szot as Don Quixote, Kelli O’Hara as Aldonza, and Danny Burstein as Sancho Panza…

HELL’S KITCHEN To Close - Feb 22, 2026

It’s really a shame HK couldn’t have announced this a few weeks earlier, and maybe Death of A Salesman could have switched theatres to the Shubert, and Mamma Mia! could have become an open ended run on Broadway, and they could have rehearsed and built a new tour…

Laurie Metcalf & Nathan Lane led Death of A Salesman!!

Take my money now!!! This should net Laurie her third Tony win as well!!! 😍

Are There More New Musicals Coming?

It just opened last week with rave reviews, could the Off-Broadway revival of Putnam County Spelling Bee” transfer to Broadway this spring? It’s only on sale until April currently…

Broadway Strike?

What’s the likelihood of a Broadway Strike materializing this Fall?
