Thank you, winston89. As I said, everyone has Mondays off, therefore many Broadway community events are scheduled for that day. Not "Actors deserve Monday off for Musical Mondays at SBNY" or whatever else Auggie imagined my post to mean.

You know what/ if you think that performing in a Broadway show means two hours of easy work, you have No idea what you are talking about and shouldn't consider yourself a Broadway fan or lover.
I am going to keep it short, but ONE perfomance involves MUCH more than two hours of work and the work that goes into it is INCREDIBLY exhausting and intense.

Not only are eight 2 and a half to three hour shows a week incredibly draining, both physically and emotionally, there is a lot more to performing on Broadway than just the performances. Many of the cast have a very full schedule when you add in the hours spent on understudy rehearsals, brush ups, put ins, press events, and so on and so forth.
Your both not telling anyone anything new here you know. Chill.

Mama, I was making reference to this post --
"Sorry, but if I can work 7 hours a day with a one hour lunch, and some of my friends can do 12 hour workdays, then actors coan do their 4 hours without bitching. It's nonsense to think that somehow they can't do 8 hours of work in a two day period when many people do much more physically demanding work in one day...for less money."
Also, most actors don't make as much as a stated salary leads you to think
I've done a number of productions with 12 shows a week touring the UK.
'Joseph' has been doing this for the last 30 years nonstop. I did 2 9 month stints with it and it is beyond hard.

1. Who said they were bitching? No one here...and probably no one at the theaters. Performing all tilt is (and should be)exhausting work
2. No one said they can't or shouldn't. Just that we understand how emotionally and physically draining it could be.
3. Bitter, much?
