So, I usually don't have high expectations for a show, but seeing as the past 4 shows I've seen have been Hairspray, I was going to be hard to impress the next time I saw a show--and I was correct. Unless this show really isn't anything amazing, and Hairspray has nothing to do with it.
I would like to start by saying that all of the performers had amazing voices. Especially the two lead ladies. Kaitlin Hopkins (Who played the mother in BARE) has a voice that could capture any soul. One thing that I thought was impressive was that they cast has to know how to sing different styles, and dance differently also--like ballet, and waltz, and such. That was neat. However, there really is no story line, and the dancing is kept to a minimum. The songs are really the only thing that kept me from leaving at intermission. I guess to say the least, I would not recommend the show.
Sorry, not the greatest review...but what can I say? Everyone's a critic!

Is this still touring? I thought that I read somewhere that it had closed? Anyway, is Ashely Brown (I think that's her name) still in it? She was the only highlight for me when I saw it - especially her "Part of Your World."
She should definatly play Ariel when it comes to stage!
Yup she is still there...I agree that she should be ariel...Not to sound TOO harsh--but I find it sad that these talented performers are in this show, they deserve to be in something better.

It's never "harsh" if it's the truth.
Sorry, Micheal Eisner.

Ashley Brown is Beauty on Broadway in September.
There is not a storyline in a revue, and am aware of that, which is why I enjoyed it. I saw it with Emily Skinner.
This thing is still on the road?
Kick "Goofy's Wacky Summer Follies" out of DisneyWorld's ToonTown and put this in.

They have no intention of going to Broadway now, so let it tour.
This show wouldn't succeed on Broadway.
I saw it way back in December. The show was kinda blah, but the ensemble (Emily Skinner, Ashley Brown, Tyler Maynard, etc.) was very good. This how will never come to Broadway, I think that it's dying out in August.

I heard the soundtrack and, while the voices are there, it's not drawing me to see it.

I saw the show in Boston earlier this year and enjoyed it, probably because I knew going in that it was a musical revue of Disney songs, as opposed to a book musical. I wish Disney had marketed it more that way, since a lot of people seem to be criticizing it for not having a story. That criticism is factually correct, but irrelevant if you are there to watch a revue! I don't think it was ever meant to open on Broadway.
If you know that it's a revue, and you know and like a lot of Disney songs, you'll enjoy the show, because the performers are very talented, and many of the songs are cleverly woven together. If you don't know what you're signing up for by buying a ticket, prepare for a likely disappointment that could have been prevented by a bit of advance research.
