But what point do you want to make about that? Can't we just celebrate the diversity that was there, in the wins, in the nominations and actually ON STAGE?


If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I'm a little disappointed that so little attention was given to the non-racial aspects of diversity that were at play in Spring Awakening. We had deaf people on stage, we had an actress in a wheel chair (and boy does Michael Arden look like Christopher Fitzgerald Diversity At The Tonys

Also noticed that on the Tonys. I saw Micheal Arden and thought that they had the wrong guy ??

During the opening speech when he said the Tonys are like the oscars but with diversity, I couldn't help notice the audience is still a LOT of old white dudes. Still a long way to go especially behind the scenes.

What fascinated me more was that 3 of the 4 musical acting Tony winners played roles (Burr, Angelica, Lafayette/Jefferson) not traditionally played by people of color.

To solve the problem, all old white dudes plus all white actors should be totally banned from the theater forever. This should resolve the diversity problem quickly and forever.
