DO you think Super Bowl Sunday will effect some shows this Sunday? Two years ago I saw a show on the day of the Super Bowl and the theater was empty. I want to try a lottery or rush on Sunday, do you think it will be easier to get in?

Affect is a verb.
Effect is a noun.

Maybe the Will Ferrell show would be affected.
To say what everyone else here was about to - are the people coming to see Broadway shows the ones who care about the Super Bowl?

Ummmm...I have enough room in my heart for B'way AND Football. Sorry to break any illusions; it is possible.
But if two years ago it was noticebly quieter than "normal", then I would suspect that this year will be as well.

If I lived in NYC, I would so totally see a show on Superbowl Sunday. I can appreciate sports, but football and I simply tolerate each other. I'm just going to a Superbowl party this year for the company and the commercials, not the game.
August would be a good choice. Might be a better day for the cancellation line at South Pacific...though perhaps the South Pacific and Superbowl viewing crowds are two different animals.

After most of the shows closed I realized, I have nothing to see. I've seen August and I am DYING to go back but I'm gonna go with my Dad when I do go back and he wants to watch the super bowl.
I think I may end up taking advantage of the 20 at 20 program for Off Broadway and see Forbidden Broadway.

Posted: 1/28/09 at 4:53pmI am not sure how it will affect any rush/lotto. I am a theatre lover but I am not going to theatre this sunday because I am also a huge sports fan like college basketball/football, baseball and even soccer like womens national team and womens college soccer. I love the superbowl alot so I am pumped to watch it....GO CARDINALS!!!
