i hope so hes good at singing but he keeps the same monotone voice throughout the entire show.

Let him go? As in fire before his contract is up? Are you joking? Do you know the number of screaming fans that come see him nightly? I've seen girls chase him down the block. Honestly that boy could stand on that stage singing the ABCs he'd still be bringing Hairspray good business. I was at the Inside Broadway event at Hairspray that was filled with school kids and he got the biggest screams and loudest applause of everyone.

I saw him last summer and really enjoyed his performance. I mean, I wasn't blown away or amazed, but I certainly had no complaints.

no its not worth shelling out fifty bucks to see him. i hope they let him go when his contract is up. look how many people are unemplyed now, they could fire him anytime. all i have to say hes a nice guy but nothing thrilling for broadway.

But wait, its a fifty buck ticket to see him? goodness me, when i saw hairspray, i paid 20 and didnt even know parker was playing link.

i didnt rmb him standing out vocally, or well aesthetically too, for that matter :P

i remeber seeing richard h blake and fell in love with link and dont feel the same with ashley parker. the ushers i work with feel the same way.

it doesnt quite work the same way in theatre, you need a good solid reason to fire someone... and the only reason they could even possibly consider- if for some bizarre reason they felt like getting rid of their big draw early- it would have to be his attendence record but hes been legitimately injured. And given that he was out for like a month, if you really wanted to see someone else you had ample opportunity to see two other Links, so really this shouldn't be a big problem. He wont be in the show forever, but thats no guarantee you'll love the next one either. I think hes a good Link, not the best and certainly not the worst but doing well. I've seen Ashley several times. I've seen him get laughs on lines that no else has.

I think Ashley Parker Angel is bland and he's been in the show way too long. I'm still bitter that he took over the role from Aaron Tveit... There's new kid "Curt Hansen" who plays Sketch now and I think he's taking over the role of Link in September.

I wouldn't worry too much about Aaron Tveit or his career at this point...

He went immediately from Next to Normal, back to Hairspray, to Saved. Saved closes on a Sunday, and he begins in Wicked on a Tuesday. Then, supposedly, he's going from that directly into the West Side Story revival, where he is rumored to be playing Tony.

All they have to do is buy out his contract. Being fired froma real world job, now that you need a reason for (well, unless the employee to be fired is a white male).

I'm not worried about Aaron's career at all. Aaron Tveit and Blake Hammond got me into Hairspray and the producers stunt-cast other people who can't do a good job. And it took Aaron almost a year to come back to Broadway stage. Of course I'm bitter!

I came across that video quite a while ago (sometime last year)... I thought he was great. Good for him for making it to Broadway.
