My friend invited a bunch of us to see Spring Awakening in September, but I'm not sure it is something I want to see - do you recommend seeing it?

Why not? I'm not a huge fan of the show, but why not see it?

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

Yes. At the very least, all your opinions on it in the future will be based on something concrete.

I was a little leary of seeing it as well...I had read about it and was excited for the OCR, but when I heard it, was disappointed. The OCR does not do this show just at all...you nee to experience the show in order to appreciate the OCR, IMHO. So I say "yes...go see it!"

I'm not a fan of the show either, but go see it. If you don't, you're always going to wonder what you missed out on, and it might turn out to be something you like.

For me, it was a very emotional experience, and I loved it. But even if you don't like it, as others have said, its one you should see because its such a big show, and you may end up loving it anyway.

I have several names, one is Julian2. I am also The Opps Girl. But cross me, and I become Bitch Dooku!

I saw it... I personally wasn't bowled over, but I guess I'm glad I saw it. At least I only paid student rates. I wouldn't have wanted to pay more.

I may be biased since I'm a huge fan of the show, but the first time I went I had no real desire to go. I liked it a lot though and decided to go back a bit later.

Any show is worth seeing, why not go?

I really don't think so. I generally avoid seeing award-winning, critically-acclaimed musicals when I can.

Seriously, if you're spending time on this board, I don't think such a question needs to be asked. Even if the show's not your favorite or not your 'type', you'll be able to have a valid opinion and discussions about it. At the very least, someone here should value the warmth of spending a night at the theatre with a group of friends over the relative merits of the material involved.

If two friends asked me to go see the Crest Community Center production of ANNIE, you bet I'd be there.

I'm going, just to see what all the hype is about. If the hype is warranted then I will have seen a good show, if not, then at least I will know for myself.
If the option is only to see or not to see, then always see a show.
The difficult part is if you only have money/time to see just one show, then which do you choose.

Are you mad? Of course you should see it!! First of all, you'll get to see the musical that beat out all other musicals for the 2007 Tony. Secondly, it's FREE! Thirdly - I think it's a really fantastic show.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

It is an amazingly lit and staged show. You may or may not care for the music, but at least after you see it, if you hate it, you will have a real reason to hate it, rather than simply being upset because it won the Tony that your favorite show didn't win, which seems to be what so many others are doing. And if you love it, you can jump on my band wagon.

Yes. It's a good show overall. Some of the lyrics are painfully stupid though and should have never won ANY award for best book/lyrics from a musical.

eh...if the tickets are free... might as well. If not, I'd go see something else. There's just so much to see on Broadway, and I think SA will be in existence FOREVER

You're hurt and you're scared because you doubt your own artistic ability.

It's not a show I would recommend seeing, but if you have nothing better to do, why not? Everyone will have their own opinions on it and you may end up really loving it. Give it a try.

How can this question be answered? I have no idea of your taste in theatre. So I have no idea if you would like it.

Why not ask what you should eat for dinner? How can I tell?????

The show won the Tony for Best Musical...an indication of some sort of quality. Though many would say simply because it won the Tony doesnt mean its any good.

Clearly, you have been on these message boards and on Broadwayworld.com -- so you have , presumably READ SOMETHING about this show and can make some sort of educated guess as to weather you would like this kind of thing or not.

Now.....what should I have for breakfast?
