Do you send emails or mail to your favorite performers? I send tons of emails and I send birthday cards, anniversary (of performances, on milestone shows) cards, and break a leg cards, as well as little gifts every now and then. Sometimes I send them to their manager, agent, or the theatre, if I don't know their personal address. Sometimes I get replies (like with Willemijn Verkaik! ) That was really exciting.
i've never sent a favorite star a card or anything, but i did write an appreciation letter to steven sondheim.

I'm currently working on a letter to Sondheim. It's hard to put my love into words, I really don't know how to express it. I've only got a small paragraph so far.
Into The Woods2, if you don't mind me asking what was your letter like in a nutshell?
I sent Jill Paice a polite message telling her how much I loved her in the things I'd seen and saying I can't wait for her next job.
Stuck up harlet didn't reply.
...and 2mrw night she closes in mega West End flop 'Gone With The Wind'
so basically i wrote about how i am sick and how much his music has inspired me and kept me sane in a very difficult time, i wrote about how many great vocal roles he has created that i would be lucky to attempt some day, it was a kind of personal letter but i just wrote about a view specific songs that i relate to and how brilliant he is. i typed it because i have horrible handwriting. hope that helps you?!

Aw, that sounds like a wonderful letter ITW2, thanks.

Jill has always been nice to me! If you sent an email to her old webmaster email address, I don't think that person is responsible anymore since her website completely changed it's look.
And if you sent it via facebook, I believe that's a personal one that she is "kind" enough to add fans to, but I haven't really received a reply either.
Also I'm sure she's completely busy. She's super nice if you send her a "snail-mail" letter. Always responds with a note/kind words!
Never sent any mail. I probably will to someone in In The Heights after the Tony's congratulating them etc. I have given someone a gift at the stage door. I gave Tim Howar (Roger in Rent) a bag of funyuns. It was an inside joke with my friends and him. But he loved it, hell he loves everything. I miss Tim

Brad Pitt has never once responded to my e-mails.
What's the email address to send Stephen Sondheim a letter? Or to his house?
Sent Julie Reiber (current Elphaba standby) an email telling her how much I love her Elphaba, that she is my favorite, and are there any future dates she's performing so I can catch her. She replied with a personal email telling mw how much she appreciates comments like mine and that there are no future dates as of now, but she'll email me if any do come up! What a sweetheart!
I told my sister, another Wickedfangirl (she's only 9!) That she could get an email from JUlie if she sent her one. Well she did, asked how it was like to be a standby, why did you choose Wicked, and how does it feel to go up in the Defying Gravity lift. She also asked what was her favorite costume. Well Julie wrote back! A multi-paragraphed email, answering all of her questions in detail.
I love this woman and I hope I get to see her perform. She the Best Elphie ever IMO!
Jenna Leigh Green had (has?) a Myspace and back when she was in the tour of Wicked I sent her a message about how much I adored her, had been a huge fan of Bare, etc. I NEVER expected a reply back, but she replied within the week and had such gracious, sincere things to say. I was so impressed with her. She really is so inspiring, and down to Earth.
I've never sent snail mail or an email to any performer I admired though. In a lot of cases, Broadway fans can breach on the creepy and be really excessive so I try to stay away from that sort of thing even if my intentions are relatively sane.
I've sent some snail mail to a few particular people, and have emailed once or twice with Lea Michele.
I saw spelling bee in october on broadway and I loved Jenn Simard so I wrote her a rather lengthy e-mail and she sent a rather lenghty one back and said if i ever needed to e-mail her again she would be more than happy to respond to it.

With all the emails I send reporting illegal productions, I can't find the time to email my favorite reporters, too! That's why I keep a few in my basement.
^^^^
LOL
When I was 14 I sent a letter to the Original Australian cast of CATS complete with my own drawings of the CATS eyes and moon etc.
I was so excited when a week or so later I had a letter waiting at home with the big CATS eyes logo on the envelope. It contained a really really nice letter from the stage manager in it. It was the highlight of my then 14 year old life I think.
Then when I saw INTO THE WOODS at the Sydney Theatre Company in the early 90's I sent a very gushy letter to the cast. I told them that I was seeing it again in fact. So when I saw it the next time they arranged for me to go backstage and meet the cast etc. That was great!

I wrote a note to Michael Crawford during his stay in Phantom and got a nice note and signed picture.
I've recently sent some DVDs I made of some video clips I was able to save for a performer who asked how I was able to do it, but since then has ignored responding to the gift. Guess I'm considered a weirdo for doing it. NEVER AGAIN.
I feel weird enough stagedooring, I'm not really big on mailing performers and encroaching further on their personal time. I did once have a brief exchange with Manoel Felciano on MySpace, but he had said he was going to open his inbox up to all questions, so I didn't feel like much of an imposition, and he was very nice.
I kinda want to write letters to the Histories ensemble, but I don't know if I have the words to say what I want to say. Thank you, I guess. I dunno. *shrugs*

I emailed Lindsay K. Northen of Wicked(telling her how I loved her performance when she was Glinda) and she reponded back to me within 5 minutes of receiving it. I have also PM'd Julie Reiber on FaceBook and she always replies back also usually at 1 in the morning...LOL.
I flick messages back and forth between the peeps at [title of show] all the time, especially Jeff.
I have a little youtube series about me going to broadway to see [tos] and I send them the links and they love it!
My friend loves John Tartaglia and quite often we have Tartaglia references in the show- Jeff from [tos] passed the episodes onto him and he watched them and said he laughed his arse off!
And I got to meet Kris Stewart ([tos] producer, founder of NYMF and Australian!) thanks to Jeff and Hunter passing on the episodes to him.
So yeah they're cool and Jeff always sends awesome emails.

I wonder how many have a restraining order against you.
I don't see anything wrong with showing your favorite actor/actress your appreciation on occasion, but that seems a bit extreme to me.
