...in the current revival like previously rumored?
When hearing her sing live on TV, she sounds pitchy etc.
I just can't see her singing Lovett.
I think she'd be great.
And ljay - don't use the word "pitchy." It's a word that was made up by American Idol. Say she's sharp or flat, or she's off-pitch.
I agree with rath. I was actually pulling for her to be playing Lovett in the revival and wasn't too enthused about LuPone (until I saw her remarkable performance). I hope Lauper'll play the role at one point.
Heh. I know the proper terms, being a voice student myself. And I actually don't use "pitchy" often. But you are right, I've only really heard that word on American Idol, lol.
I knew you were smarter than that.

Why Sweeney Todd? She should do The Wedding Singer.

isn't her voice a little high?
Can she play the tuba?

this revival i don't know. but the girl sure should play the role. i wanted her to get it!
That would be the glockenspiel - and most anyone that can read music can pick that up fairly easily - the notes are usually engraved on the bars.
Cyndi will make a great Lovett and I hope she takes over when Patti leaves, I don't know if she toots a tuba but she plays guitar, dulcimer, zither, recorder and a few other instruments. She is still the best kept secret in show business.
She is probally a better choice for the movie.
