Have a single ticket for next Saturday, I would prefer to go in mid-January. Despite it saying no refunds/exchanges, do you think if I called they would allow me to switch?
It can never hurt to try.
It doesn't hurt to try, but I've found that the "no refunds/exchanges" rule is one that's usually pretty firmly upheld by most theatres. You could always attempt to past-date the ticket, but with a show like this that's generally selling pretty well, that's less of a guarantee. Honestly, if there's nothing preventing you from going on the date you're currently scheduled to go, I'd suggest you just stick with it.
But, like ljay said, there's no harm in calling.
I'd give them a call. Telecharge was very nice and understanding and actually allowed me to switch dates and the agent even checked a bunch of dates to see when she could get me comparable seats. Granted, that was for War Horse this past summer when it wasn't selling well and you're asking to switch seats for a show that's selling incredibly well, so that may be a bit of a distinction.
Either way, good luck!
I've purchased tickets for the wrong date through Telecharge before, and they've always exchanged them for me. Their customer service is great. Definitely give it a try.
