^ Exactly.
I really think it hurt her performance, too. I think Madonna worked extremely hard on this role and did a fine job ... only to be undermined by these "devil doll" lenses that would suck the soul out of anybody.
(Yeah, okay, they wouldn't have made her sing better without them, but on film, an actor's eyes are their soul---and hers were inked out.)
