I doubt it. It's a stage production. There are no close-ups on stage.

Those contacts on Madonna were horrendous. They made her look like she had beady little devil doll's eyes. They looked about as natural as Raggedy Ann.

I really think it hurt her performance, too. I think Madonna worked extremely hard on this role and did a fine job ... only to be undermined by these "devil doll" lenses that would suck the soul out of anybody.

(Yeah, okay, they wouldn't have made her sing better without them, but on film, an actor's eyes are their soul---and hers were inked out.)

I don't understand how the people who are always crowing about "historical accuracy" in the way their stage productions are cast aren't up in arms about this.

I remember being really surprised at Christian Hoff wearing colored contacts for Jersey Boys, and Tommy DeVito is a way less-known figure than Eva Peron. So after that, I wouldn't be surprised.
