Does Las Vegas PHANTOM employ a live orchestra?

If yes...is the orchestra the same size as Broadway? Or is it larger/smaller?

There are 19 musicians in the Las Vegas production. I do not know the amount in other productions. They put this in their press releases that have gone out that it has a live orchestra. They also have more cast members than any other production.

I have a review up talking about the orchestra, they are fantastic and sound great in the new theatre.:)

is this like other Vegas Broadway productions, ie only a condensed version, I mean what IS the point?

Yes, quite happy with the live orchestra here. If you can come see the show it is amazing.

That is why GettyImages is only showing the main leads and Masquerade ending. I forgot to mention that Masquerade has a twist to it and one that is beautiful. The sets and special effects are the main changes and I am not giving away any secrets.:)

Elphaba this prodcution is not like any other Phantom production in the world. Yes, it is a shorter version...but they added little surprises as Hal Prince said. Those surprises make this a one of a kind show.

I don't think those are the kind of "surprises" they've added. They haven't changed any of the story, but have supposedly added lots of new visuals and effects.
