Does Michael Riedel like anything?

This is slightly rhetorical because we all know that Michael Riedel loves to rip shows apart. However, on a slightly serious note, have there been any shows since he came into the limelight that he has actually praised or even enjoyed?

Name six shows he's liked. Just six. He loves to destroy shows more than he loves to enjoy them. He loves to rip things apart more than build them up.

I've met him publicly many times and all he wants to hear are the negative things.

Just this past season, he's raved about Exit the King, Billy Elliot, Next to Normal, Hair, Joe Turner..., and God of Carnage.

If you want to go back a season, he raved about LuPone in Gypsy and the South Pacific revival.

He actually likes a lot more shows than he hates.

He raved about Spring Awakening as well. And dozens of others.

It a show sucks, he just calls it as he sees it.

I've always seen Riedel as one of the critics who destroys the art form as opposed to preserving it. *waits to be eaten alive for that comment*

He also liked FOLLIES at Encores! and even said Donna Murphy would be a lock for the Tony were the show to transfer.
He does love FELA!

GOD BLESS MICHAEL RIEDEL!!!!

God knows he has his picks (Passing Strange, Fela!, Spring Awakening, many overlooked ENCORES! presentations, God of Carnage) and his pans (9 to 5, Shrek, Spiderman?before he ever saw it), but without him there would be no fun and witty discourse on this subject!

Listen, if I want something stimulating, I?ll go to Ann Althouse or La Cieca?but for my money, I?ll take Riedel?s ?All About Eve?-esq commentary any day.

Add me to the list of people who have met him and find him to be pretty negative on the whole. He spent the entire conversation trying to get people to talk badly about a few performers who shall remain nameless. I mean, come on, get a life.

Problem is, that is his life. I think he's masochistic and doesn't want to pay for it. I have literally seen him try to provoke people into hitting him - as in "You really wanna hit me now, don't you"? and getting even nastier when they didn't.
