It doesn't technically advance the storyline so the logical place is to put it at the beginning, you dont have to be so rude about it.. People are used to it being the segway between acts. Obviously it wont work like that in the movie version..
"Someday I'm going to have a baby and I'm gonna name her L'il Mimi Marquez and I and will sing to her every day and when she's a toddler I will say "L'il Mimi Marquez, clad only in a bubble diaper, will perform her famous play pen handcuff dance to the sounds of breast milk being pumped!" ~Kringas

It's possibl, even likely, I'd bet, that the song is over the opening credits. We may not even see Jesse and Tracie singing the solos.
Also, since there isn't an intermission, going from La Vie Boheme to SOL is a huge jump. LVBB is all in your face and happy, and SOL is much more subdued and such. That wouldn't be a good transition. And, since SOL doesn't advance the plot at all, it's best location is probably the opening or ending credits. And, since we know that "Love Heals" is over the ending credits, it's probably a valid assumption that SOL is the first song.

Posted: 9/1/05 at 3:37pmThe script I read had Seasons of Love towards where Act II would start. *shrugs* I guess we'll know when the movie comes out.

Posted: 9/1/05 at 3:39pmI wouldn't count on the Soundtrack to have the same order of songs as the film. Remember it's a Soundtrack and not a cast recording, so the rules are a bit different. If you look at the Hedwig Soundtrack, the songs don't always appear in the order they do in the film.

Posted: 9/1/05 at 3:55pmOn a purely $ basis, think of everyone in the record shop picking up the sample headphones and having a first listen - Seasons of Love is likely to be the only song, if any, that they'll know, and if not, it's catchy. It makes sense financially to put the most popular song first, because then it leads to a sale. It's also the trailer song.
