Kerry Ellis will be on Broadway again in other shows? I know after her WICKED Broadway run she is sheduled to do another 6 months in London, but after that does anyone think she will be back on Broadway again?

It's not un-heard of... Carmen Cusack, Gavin Lee, Miriam Margolyes are all English.

Not to mention Kerry actually sounds extremely American..

A lot of times, accents disappear when singing, there's no real "american" sound.

That is partially true but you do not hear the English accent...

You hear English accents in those, where in Kerry's you don't.

I know this may come as a shocker, but countless amounts of British, Irish, Scottish and yes, even Australian actors have played Americans and vice-versa.

Remember, Vivien Leigh... a British actress played Southern Scarlett O'Hara in the film GONE WITH THE WIND and New Orleans' Blanche Du Bois in the film A STREETCAR NAME DESIRE.

Oh, and Texan Renee Zellweger played British in both BRIDGET'S DIARY films.

Also, the musical CHICAGO is performed in London with American accents (um, like the plot takes place in Chicago, Illinois!).

Ashley Brown, an American accent plays British MARY POPPINS!

Ok, I'm very much aware of that... but Wicked takes place in OZ, there is no accent for OZ. So, you hear the actresses accent, which in this case doesn't sound English.

I'm just simply wondering if people think she will be on Broadway again.

I don't know. As for Wicked once she is done doing the role on Broadway she is going to London to do the role again in the west end.

Not really, otherwise we'd have had an Australian Glinda in the West End at first. But as it was a production in England, Helen Dallimore performed with an English accent. Come to that, we'd probably have had an Australian Fiyero too, if people were performing with their native accents. But they weren't. (Apart from Idina kepping her American accent, and I rather enjoyed the Scottish Boq.)
