"and about the 03 revival what was different about the directors approach? I've only seen clips from the show."
I'm not sure it was "THAT" different, the biggest difference appeared to be some kind of 'show-within-a-show' concept, with stage hands moving sets/card-thingys-for-the-title-of-song-or-place (I don't know the name :$)..
The other complaints that Laurents complained about (No Walls, bland costumes/sets etc..) could be applied to his own, I think.

Give me claws and a hunch, just away from this bunch.

^ Laurents' revival didn't have walls or a nice set. But the costumes were quite nice and were Tony nominated.

You all do realize that if they wait another 15 - 20 years to revive GYPSY, the names you are putting forth will all be too old to play Rose, don't you?
By then all the threads will be about Lea Michele, Sierra Boggess, Haven Burton, Jennifer Damiano etc... being "born to play Rose, she NEEDS to play Rose, I'LL DIE IF SHE DOESN'T PLAY ROSE!!!!!"

Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

Maybe Donna Murphy and Sara Ramirez could share the role. Then you would stand a better chance of not getting an understudy.
