Donna Murphy Not Returning To The Stage Anytime Soon

This is totally random, but I saw Donna Murphy tonight and asked her if she would be returning to the stage soon and she said "not anytime soon, no". So that sucks. Just wanted to share in case anyone wants to be sad with me.

Thank you for sharing, Jordan. I figured as much. I can't imagine what she must be going through. Did she seem okay? She's my favorite Broadway actress, and one of the greats, IMO.

I believe her husband recently died?

Sad to hear about her husband and her hiatus from the stage. I'm all the more happy I got to see her excellent performance in Into the Woods. I also recall her being extraordinarily nice at the stage-door for that one - a real class act. Hopefully we'll all get to see her onstage again in a few years, whenever she's ready.

I wish her well- she is a formidable performer and I look forward to whatever she does next.

I think she's shooting season two of "Mercy Street" on PBS. So, even if it's not Broadway, it's great to see she's still acting!

She's perfectly cast in Mercy Street, but I really love the Donna Murphy who owned the stage in the WONDERFUL TOWN revival. That was a real star turn that rivals the best.
