Not sure if she ever appeared on stage, but really sad news.
May she rest in peace. My mother is named after her.
According to IBDB, there is a Doris Day who performed in 2 plays: Susan and God; and The Women

But I believe this may be a different person from the one who passed away.
I loved all of her movies and her tv show. Kudos to her for standing next to Rock Hudson when he became ill. That might have been her greatest achievement. m

You are correct. It was a different Doris Day

That, and her animal advocacy.

One of my favorite movies she did was Midnight Lace with Rex Harrison which does not get talked about too often.
Kelli O’Hara was great as Doris Day in FOSSE/VERDON for the sequence on the filming of THE PAJAMA GAME.

My mom and I just stayed at the Cypress Inn, Doris Day's hotel in Carmel-by-the-Sea, two weeks ago. It's a warm, lovely place with lots of well-behaved canine guests.
Some of my earliest memories are of going to drive-in with my parents to see Doris Day movies. I was three or four and never stayed awake for a whole movie, but we also have one Doris Day record which I played non-stop.
Didn't it seem like Miss Day just might live forever?
