Cherry came out the stage door when I saw it last week.

I'm interested in seeing this in Boston. I'm just wondering, do you think a teenager would be interested in it? I'm not asking for me, I'm just wondering if a person who's not necessarily a theatre person would appreciate the level of acting, the depth of the characters, etc.

I finally saw the show last night and it was wonderful! All of the performances were great and I was pleased to find that the show had a lot of humor in it as well.

I do wish my seats were better because I would have loved to have made out facial expressions, but it was still a fantastic night at the theatre. I'm contemplating a return trip before it closes on Sunday.

A friend of a friend is Cherry's understudy for the tour. If anyone sees her, I'd really appreciate a report. It's not likely that she'll ever go on, though, Cherry being the workhorse that she is.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

I saw it last night and loved it. I really didn't know much about it other than the theme of the piece, so I was quite surprised at how unassuming it was for the first third of the show. There was a lot more humor than I expected. The construction of the play is utterly brilliant. The tension is meticulously paced through the script and direction so that it never stops building and there are few breaks once it gets going. Honestly, by the end, I felt as exhilarated as if I'd just ridden a 90-minute roller-coaster and was seated next to the cast themselves and I found myself wanting to ride again. The last time I felt that way about a play was the 1997 revival of A Doll's House with Janet McTeer. I found the dialogue pushed the boundaries of believability at times, but by the end of the show, I was so absorbed in the story and the performances, I no longer noticed.

I might try to see it again before it leaves this weekend.

The humor is so well played. This play is brilliant. The backdrop of the recent scandal of the church is a ruse, it is about doubt. I wish I had the time to see it this weekend.

I'm going to tomorrow's matinee (if I can get a cheap $20 ticket the day of)!
