Exciting news. Not sure if I'd like to see it with the instruments. But a revival sounds very exciting. The revised version seems solid enough for Broadway.

London may get another production of NIGHT MUSIC. But what about us? We have been waiting forever.

Plus LuPone in GYPSY may transfer.

i would MUCH rather have a Night Music revival than a Merrily one. As for Gypsy... all I can say is: AGAIN!?
talk about pulling a Les Mis

GYPSY would be transferring to the West End, not Broadway. When was the last time the West End saw a GYPSY revival? I can't imagine it was too recently.

No one loves Doyle's work more than I do, but I hope he drops the instruments for ALNM and Merrily.

The instrument thing is going to get old very fast.

"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert

Well he's capable of work without, but I think it worked brillantly in his last two shows. And for some reason it works well for Sondheim, but I just hope he doesn't do it with Into the Woods, as much as I'd like to see his much darker/stripped down take on that show, the instruments would make that show hella crowded.

What if in ITW the instrument was one of the props. Red's cape a bagpipe, Milky White is a Bass Drum they roll around, The Witch's staff is a Bassoon...

That's true - he is also directing PETER GRIMES for the MET (in March 200re: Doyle in discussions for MERRILY...(And more Sondheim news) so he has to allow some time here for that.
