No the show isn't that good, but I like it anyways. It's cheesey, (even with a few VERY COOL special effects). But here is what it has going for them. It's cast. Tom Hewitt is wicked! I'm sorry, there is no better term for him. He is just so freaking talented I can't help but be amazed. And oh, I'm such a sucker for baritones...
Kelli O'Hara is beautiful! She's flawless in every way and it is a pleasure to hear her sing. Really. In my opinion, she was the only good thing about The Sweet Smell Success.
Don Stephenson-I LOVE this guy! He's so...I don't know. I mean, he's not your typical broadway leading man, but there is just something about him! I'm kicking myself for not seeing him in the Producers.
Chris Hoch-Again...I'm a sucker for baritones! Now this is a hairy guy if I ever met one! I love it... But really, he's great. I saw him in Beauty and the Beast several times, and he is by far my favorite Gaston. It's so nice to see him in a different role. On a completely unimportant side note, his hat matched his scarf which I adored.
Melissa Errico-I think this lady is beautiful. She's very graceful and she just sparkles on stage. Other than that, I'm not so much a fan. I thought if I had to hear her sing the word "here" once more I would scream. And the accent is only bad on pretty much that one word.
All in all, this musical is one of the most erotic shows I've ever seen. And I really did enjoy the show better the second time.

I love all that spooky, gothic horror stuff. Tom Hewitt is gorgeous. I want to see it again and again and again!!!!!!!!!

I have to agree that Tom Hewitt was very good in the role--I think the critics were too hard on him. As for the show itself, I found little else to like, and that includes Ms. Errico, who was obviously very pissed off that she was in the show--she seemed to want it to end even more than I did.

There should never BE a dracula second time around - I cannot imagine sitting through that piece of **** again. Yes, obviously Tom Hewitt is quite attractive, that's the point of Dracula being seductive and no matter how talented the cast is, their material is SO god-awfully wretched that an all star cast couldn't save it. The music is bland and forgettable and is the only other show (besides NEVER GONNA DANCE,) that I actually questioned leaving during intermission. I doubt it will last until Christmas. What the Dodger's should do is have never produced DRACULA and saved their money for BARE, which is better than anything on broadway right now.

You believe you have to see it a few times to appreciate it??????? I would say that's probably because after the first time you see it, you're in shock that you're watching something so bad. So when you go back, you convince yourself that you like it now when really, you're just getting used to the fact that you're watching a diant debacle.

I'm through defending this show, but add me to the list of people who loved it, love the demo, listen to it all the time and would kill to see it again... I know the writing is not very good, some of the lyrics make me wanna vomit, but Don Black has never written a good lyric in his life, so what can you expect? I enjoyed the sets, the special effects, the homoerotic subtext -it's all good. But, you have to remember you're seeing DRACULA without Lucy's "The Invitation" so you're not seeing the DRACULA I saw and you're missing the lusty lyrical concoction...

"I want you now.
I want to feel my blood
dissolving into yours.
I want to taste your blood
and float to distant shores.
'Till it consumes me once again.
The garlic flowers here,
the holy water there ...
the sacred crucifix
won't stop our savage love affair.
So come to me my love.
Before night turns to day.
Let me invite you it.
Come and drink my life away ...
come and drink my life away...."

Tom Hewitt is devilishly sexy and so are Darren Ritchie, Chris Hoch and Shonn Wiley! HOT DAMN! SEX GODS! We need to stop hating DRACULA and move on to Brooklyn as the next show to hate... Updated On: 10/25/04 at 06:38 PM

I absolutely LOVE this show--I have seen it three times and would see it again and again. I have to go back soon to see Melissa Errico, just in case she blows her voice again and is out for another month and a half. But Elizabeth Loyacano is wonderful and I fully enjoyed seeing her.

I love this show more every time I see it because I notice more things each time and am ever further floored by the actors. Every time Don Stephenson hits his high note at the end of The Master's Song... WHOAH! And Darren with his belt... Shonn hits this GREAT NOTE (at least I think it's Shonn) in the end of Deep in the Darkest Night that makes me want to scream with joy and, well, nothing can be said about Tom Hewitt and Kelli O'Hara. He's simply incredible and anyone who can take How Do You Choose and make it enjoyable is truly gifted--plus she's just so great and I absolutely love when she sings The Mist. Melissa I haven't seen since the first time I saw the show in August, but I remember her being very good and just splendid at the stage door.

Any fans of Dracula should PM me because I have something on my computer I shouldn't say on the boards re: Dracula-the second time around...
