Uhhhh~! Why do they do it when DH is on! Hmm, I guess I'll have to watch both.

re: Drama Desk Awards Thread...

I went to the theatremania website and searched extensively. The only thing that comes up is the link for discounted tickets. Where exactly do we catch this webcast from? At 9 PM will there be a new link on the homepage?

re: Drama Desk Awards Thread...

I am surprised there is not an announcement banner on the main page, too, but I think the link goes up at the last minute...

re: Drama Desk Awards Thread...

No kiddin'. re: Drama Desk Awards Thread... Seriously, though. How many non-theater types do you know who sit around anxiously waiting for the DRAMA DESK AWARDS?

Eh. Hell. How many THEATER types do you know? I just got back from the post-show cast dinner of a show I was stage managing and half the people there were like, "Drama Desk? What's that?"

re: Drama Desk Awards Thread...

WHERE???
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Yeah, I didn't see it on the main page. Can you post a link?

Go to theatremania.com. If you are already on the site, leave and go back. The link immediately pops up.

These sound like live versions. Music of the Night sounded live also.

Looks like it. You can hear people in the background. This is perfect. I am stuck in my office here in Denver working on a project. The Awards will keep me company!

re: Drama Desk Awards Thread...

I think it's airing in June on PBS.

Did anyone else just have the sound really kick in. I just jumped a mile out of my chair!

ETA: I dont know if it'll play for you, jamie. Mine's playing on RealPlayer, but it said on the main page that you needed to have WMP version 9 downloaded...which wouldn't be compatible with Mac, correct?

re: Drama Desk Awards Thread...

Yeah, the crowd noise is fading in and out. I guess they're doing sound checks.
