If Disney brings their musical of Hunchback to America (it debuted in Berlin), who would you like to see play these roles:
Quasimodo
Esmarelda
Frollo
Phoebus
Hugo
Victor
Laverne
Clopin
Personally, I think George Hearn and Alan Cumming would be perfect as Frollo and Clopin, respectfully. What are you're thoughts?
alan cumming would be perfect as anything.
and i think gerard butler shouold be quasimodo. lord knows, they cast him, the most gorgeous man on earth, to play the "horribly disfigured" phantom.
Oh, I'd LOVE to see this happen:
Quasimodo - Gavin Creel or Michael Arden!
Esmarelda - Sara Ramirez
Frollo - George Hearn
Phoebus - Steve Pasquale, Kevin Kern, Adam Pascal...anyone hot.
Clopin - Raul Esparza
Not sure about the three gargoyles. :)
Gerard Butler? I simply cannot imagine him as Quasimodo. I think Christopher Fitzgerald might be a good choice.
haha i was joking
Actually, scratch Fitzgerald. His voice isn't as strong as Tom Hulce's was in the movie.
Even though it would be hell in the makeup chair, Quasimodo is a role I'd LOVE to do. He and Frollo got the best songs in the movie.
Hmmm... Gavin Creel or Michael Arden sounds good.
I think I'd like to see Barrett Foa try it too.
Haha, Norbert, John, and Sherie as the three gargoyles.
That'd be funny.

I agree with Norbert and Lithgow, but Sherie would be too young for Laverne. Maybe Carole Shelley or Carol Channing could do it.
What has Michael Arden been in?
O, agreed. I would like to take a stab at Quasimodo, too. "Out There"'s a really nice song and "Heaven's Light" breaks my heart.
Terrence Mann as Frollo?
Hmm...
~Steven
Hehe....my mom dated Tom Hulce. Almost married him.
Michael Arden's been in Big River on Broadway (special Tony Award) and Bare Off-Broadway.
~Steven
I think someone heavy-set should play Quasimodo....its time for a heavy-set guy to make his Broadway Debut....we already have our girl Im ready to see a heavy-set guy with GREAT voice
Hmmm...
That could work.
Maybe not heavyset, but average, just normal.
A little heavier than that too could work.
But I know what you mean.
~Steven
Thanks,"HeyMrMusic"
You know what I mean....now don't get me wrong Michael Arden is AMAZING...but thats part looks like it belongs to someone with some like the guy who played Horton in Seussical...not him but sorta in his size.
Yeah, I think it would be a nice addition to Broadway. I mean, there's Tracy right now for average to heavier girls/women.
~Steven
Quasimodo - Adam Pascal
Esmeralda - Jennifer Love Hewitt or Christy Carlson Romano
Frollo - Richard Chamberlain
Phoebus - Billy Ray Cyrus
Hugo - Artie Lange
Victor - John Stamos
Laverne - Eartha Kitt
Clopin - Antonio Banderas
..but seriously folks:
Quasimodo - Shuler Hensley/John C. Reilly/Richard Troxell
Esmeralda - Idina/Lea Salonga/Vanessa Williams
Frollo - Jonathan Pryce or Tim Curry
Phoebus - Charles Hagerty/Marc Kudisch/Adam Pascal
Hugo - Jason Alexander
Victor - Alan Cumming
Laverne - Jean Stapleton
Clopin - Raul Esparza
and i think gerard butler shouold be quasimodo. lord knows, they cast him, the most gorgeous man on earth, to play the "horribly disfigured" phantom.

Thanks to luvtheemcee, I would buy Raul as Clopin (and this is coming from one of the original Clopin fangirls, whence cometh the net-nick). I kind of like the idea of Terrence Mann as Frollo, and Sara Ramirez was my first thought for Esmeralda.
I never thought of Shuler Hensley. That would be an interesting choice. Also, Vanessa would be a perfect Esmarelda. I get chills everytime I hear her sing "Children Will Listen".
I could see Daphne Rubin-Vega as Esmeralda also.
Spankz.
Quasimodo: Gavin Creel or Hugh Panaro (I dont know how Hugh would be but I love his voice)
Esmarelda: Sara RAmierz
Frollo: George Hearn!
Clopin: Alan Cummings (He would be incredible)
I have no clue for the gargoyles or Pheobus.
