Jessica Biel is another person who has the right kind of voice for Amneris.
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
I know it would never work on-screen but Idina is my favorite Amneris. I don't even like her that much as a performer, I just think she so perfectly fits the role.

Aida holds a special place in my heart, since it is my favorite show of all time. If I had to pick a dream cast, I would probably go with...
Aida- I think I would go with Tracie Thoms here, because I feel like she is very underestimated but she has an extremely powerful voice.
Radames- I love the idea of Cheyenne Jackson, cause I saw him on Broadway as Radames and he was phenomenal, and he is really a wonderful actor(watch united 93) I think James Marsden is a great actor and a great singer, but I don't think he fits the Radames character.
Amneris- I dont think Anne Hathaway would really be the best choice, because she does have a beautiful voice, she would be better as a Christine Daae. I would personally like to see an unknown in this role, but if you have to pick a known actor I would say either Kate Shindle(Legally BLonde-Hate the show love her) or Rachel McAdams(I don't know how well of a singer she is but she really can get the emotions of Amneris) Maybe even Evan Rachel Wood
Nehebka- I would love to see Jennifer Hudson in a role like this, or another unknown.
Mereb- I think that Elijah Kelly would be great for this role, and I don't think that it is to small a role, because it actually is a very decent sized role.
Zoser- Micky DOlenz was phenomenal, and I think he would be great, possibly David bowie, but I don' think he would be my top choice.

Why am I trying so hard to fit in...When I was born to stand out!
I really haven't heard a cast I like. I dont know who would fit this movie but i dont think we have hit it yet.
I cant believe anyone is even suggesting Paris Hilton. She cant sing. If you have ever heard her live its awful and yeah maybe they can make her sound good on her cd but thats because her songs dont have range. This part does have a belty range and there is no way she can do it.
Yes, Paris Hilton nods made me want to vomit just a bit in my brain, and soul.
I'm not gonna hate you in the magazines,
(I'm better than that)
I'm not gonna compromise my Christianity,
(I'm better than that)
You know I'm not gonna diss you on the Internet
Cause my momma taught me better than that.
We know she can sing it. I don't know if she has the acting fire for it, or if she'd come off as too "nice", but I'd love to see her at least get an audition.
Emily Blunt is phenomenal, and could handle Amneris (who "arcs" much more than the other characters--going from Tori Spelling to Margaret Thatcher). She sings?
I ask in all honesty/What would life be?/Without a song and a dance, what are we?/So I say "Thank you for the music/For giving it to me."
Actually, how about Lauren Ambrose as Amneris? She sings wonderfully, and she would bring surprising undercurrents to the part. Is she too young?
Morgan Freeman would be a marvellous Amonasro. How about Alan Rickman for Zoser? Kind of obvious, but we now know he can sing (and Zoser's songs would probably be the first ones cut or abbreviated, anyway.)

kldjflskadjfl YES. I actually had not even thought of that, but Tracie would make SUCH a kick ass Aida!! She can act AND sing her butt off, she's gorgeous, and just... yes. I wholeheartedly agree. That girl needs more exposure :)
let's seee...
Amneris- That's so hard... um... if Carrie Underwood acted and could rid of the southern drawl (which I enjoy, but I wouldn't in this context), I'd be very tempted to say Carrie. But alas, that would be counting on a lot of things that may or may not be there (like acting skills). In reality? maybe... yeah, Evan Rachel Wood would be an interesting one. She's got a beautiful voice and has the looks. And if Emily Blunt could sing, she'd also be a great contender :)
Radames- hmmm... I keep coming back to the idea of Ewan McGregor, but I'm not really sure... I love him dearly, but I'm trying to decide if I can really see him in the role of Radames or not. I LOVE James Marsden too, and I would definitely be interested to see his take on the role! Again though, I'm just trying to decide if he'd be quite right for it... I'd really just have to see. haha
Nehebka- Jennifer Hudson, just because she has the PERFECT voice for the score so she needs to be in it somewhere. Nehebka would be a good role for her
and the rest I'm really not too sure on. But I'll be interested to see who is casted if they do indeed make the movie!
I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.
