SH*T, that'd be amazing.
*shudders* The very thought of Alan Cumming as Frank-n-furter makes me cringe. Sorry.
"I wanna see a stop-motion 'Woods' (ala, Nightmare, Corpse Bride)."
That would be fun to see. I sort of wish Tim Burton would do a stop-animation version of Cabaret (preferably revival version)... mainly because it would be interesting to see his take on it and Danny Elfman could write some great cabaret-ish orchestrations. But 'Woods' definitely has the sort of story that he could work with too.
"Yes, the brutalities of progress are called revolutions. When they are over, men recognize that the human race has been harshly treated but it has moved forward." - Les Miserables
If you're doing movie casts, why are you casting all Broadway actors? Just do a revival then - these will never get produced for the screen.

*In general my ideas for the cast for a Jersey Boys movie would basically be the 4 original leads and then in the other supporting roles some more well known actors, and in the roles played by Mark Lotito(except for Gyp)and Donnie Kehr(except for Norm), one of the living members of The Four Seasons or Bob Crewe or Joe Pesci. I'm still thinking about the other characters and if I come up with a complete list,I'll post it on here.

I know, I know, this is very cliche of me, but I have to do it hehe
Wicked:
Elphaba- Idina, duh! (buuut if it absolutely HAD to be someone else, prob Katherine McPhee. But really, idina deserves first grabs, I dont care how "old" she looks for the part)
G(a)linda- Assuming she could sing it, Reese Witherspoon. I really cant think of anyone who could do the part SUPER super well- I mean Kristin would be very cool, except, I actually DO think that she maybe looks a little bit old for the role. (first off, I dont think it'd matter as much for idina because she'll have the green makeup, which I think makes her look a bit younger, and also idina has better skin than Kristin, which makes her look younger closer up ) So yeah, this ones kind of undecided, but Reese would be awesome acting wise
Fiyero- Ewan McGregor, sexy scottish accent and all :P
(for the most part, I agree with Allentown2 haha)
In Wicked, the Wizard would be played by Dick Van Dyke!

and I love Allen towns Wicked cast, bring on Catherine!
Still not sure why (or if they can even act), but I would love to see either Faith Hill or Carrie Underwood as Ellen in Miss Saigon

"In Wicked, the Wizard would be played by Dick Van Dyke!"
THAT WOULD BE AMAZING!
Guys and Dolls:
Ewan McGregor or Peter Gallagher as Sky Masterson
Nathan Lane as Nathan Detroit
Kristin Chenoweth as Miss Adelaide
Sandra Joseph as Sergeant Sarah Brown
If they made The Last Five Years into a really interesting movie musical, I'd love to see Kristen Bell tackle Cathy. Don't know of anyone right for Jamie, though.
What's sad is that Into the Woods would probably never be made into a movie. There's to much direct-address. An amazing device would have to be put in to make the narrator lines make sense.
Dan Futterman will fit the character (he's actually also a sucessful writer and a Jew), but dunno whether he could sing.
I could definitely see Ewan as Fiyero in a Wicked movie. I don't really want to see Idina or Cheno (nothing personal) in the movie rolls because it is too cliche. The only reason it worked for Rent was because to general America, not many of the actors were known (minus Rosario & Jesse, but Rosario never played the part on Broadway, and not many people realized Jesse did). Idina & Cheno are too well known for their parts. I don't know, just my thoughts.

ehh, I dont know, outside of the broadway world? actually, cheno might be a little known in the mainstream but I DEF dont think idina is... yet (and I say that because, with enchanted and her new cd coming out, who knows!). Honestly I could TOTALLY deal with someone else playing G(a)linda, but I'm just far too biased toward idina in wicked to let that idea go :P I mean, I guess in a sense it WOULD be kind of cool to see a new take on the role and everything, but its just- they'd have to get someone really, REALLY spectacular to make me okay with them! lol. I really DO love Kat Mcphee, and I have faith she'd make an awesome elphie, but I just want her to do it on broadway, where idinas... not. haha
and yes, Ewan. Fiyero. Now. Its a must :P
