PG 13 almost for sure

Actually, I'm guessing PG, not PG-13.

There isn't enough violence, sexual situations or hard language to merit a PG-13 here... unless they're adding to the original material.

The MPAA won't rule on it until after the finished film is submitted, though.

Jennifer Hudson sure was connected during that Hair concert. Couldn't remember the words, but sure laid her soul out on the floor. She was amazing. Same on the album.

Her version of 'Class' with Brenda Braxton was by far the BEST version I've ever heard of the song. The chemistry was incredible. And their voices blended beautifully together. I cherish that moment.

by the way.. for those who didnt see Roz Ryan as Effie.. i did. and while she was probably the best acting Effie... she stunk vocally.. she has a big voice yes.. but she growled EVERY lyric and every note. it was just too overbearing. she certainly was not the actress to bring the role to life in my opinion.

I think this film has a real chance to surprise everyone. DREAMGIRLS, like CHICAGO, is actually more relevant today than it was when it came out, with the whole "American Idol" star-making machine in place now (Jennifer Hudson won't have to do much emotional study for the first scene, at least!) And think of Curtis' first song--his assertion that black men can get back at rich white Cadillac-owners by making them feel they need black music to be "cool." Look around--it's HAPPENED. Afro-American sounds have pretty much taken over the music biz today, and even the best white pop singers are judged by how "soulful" they sound. I really can't wait.

i think that its still relevant today. the voices are more soulful but you still cant sell a "raise the rafters" type voice to a pop audience. look at the singers out today who are making noise on the POP charts. its the reason why singers like Patti, Fantasia, Kelly Price, etc..dont have that same pop success as they do on the r&b charts.
