Dreamgirls is not showing in Washington, D.C. for the 1st week

I live in the state of Maryland which is 45 minutes from Washington, D.C.

When I scanned the newspapers for Dreamgirls I noticed that it is not playing in Washington D.C. I was thinking of going into D.C. to see it. Thank goodness it is playing in Maryland.

On a side note: It is not playing in the suburbs in Va.(Fairfax, Arlington, Alexandria, Reston) outside of Washington D.C.

Hopefully you are not experiencing this in the area you live.

The United Artist's theatre in Downtown Denver was to do an advanced screening last night (Thurs) but was cancelled due to the blizzard we had. (I had tickets to go!). When checking the listings, it appears to be playing in theaters outside of the city and says it goes into wide release in January.

Earlier in the weeks most cities weren't showing listings, but as of today (Friday 12/22/06) if you look on Moviefone.com (see link below) and selecting Showtimes for: 12/25/06 (on the drop now menu), it'll give you theater and showtime listings.

Tons of people thought the film wasn't playing in their city per no listings earlier in the week, but they're posted now -- if you look a bit further.

Thanks Brody. I checked on Moviefone. Same thing. Still shows it playing outside of the city. I am calling the theatre as they said it would be playing.

edit: I called and it is playing. It just isn't listed for some reason on the websites!! They said someone has already bought a ticket for every showing in Christmas. But none of the shows are sold out.

It is not playing in the theater in my pathetic little podunk town. I can't believe it. This has happened to me with Brokeback, The Producers, The Queen, and now Dreamgirls. I need to move back to NYC!

Same as me. My ENTIRE state is not getting it until sometime in January. I am driving 3 hours to North Carolina to see it.
