Okay, here's the deal. I read that Drew Lachey was leaving Rent March 10. I very carefully planned my life around such a thing. I'm in the process of buying tickets---I'm even taking a RENTvirgin! But about three minutes ago, I read on another site that his last day is April 11. Anyone know for sure?
(and sorry to start another "_____'s last day?" thread.)
Dear lord, don't take the chance! You may not come out alive...
I KNOW! That's why I'm asking...I'm terrified!

Sorry, I don't know, but look on the bright side: if you overshoot and miss Drew, you'll be seeing Matt Caplan, who I've heard great things about
March 11 or 17 or something. Definitely not in April.
According to Drew himself, his last show is Sunday, March 13 at 7pm. He has friends coming in that weekend, which is why it was switched from the 11th.

I've heard some shady comments about Drew, but i would love to see him too. Who is the new Mimi? and is she any good?
Karmine Alers, and yes.
I LOVE Karmine Alers!!!! I just recently saw her in a summer stock production of Aida in Augustain, Michigan. Watch out Heather Headley, this girl can sing, especially in Dance of the Robe, and Easy as life. I'm soo happy she's back in RENT, how long has she been with the show, 8 years? Well I'm happy to hear she's back. Her's a link to photos of her as Aida.

Phew! That makes me so happy, I was hoping he was leaving in March. I'm getting the tix for the 23rd, so hopefully I'll get to see Matt!
Karmine + AIDA = very cool in my book.
Timote- she was planning her seeing Rent so that she would NOT have to see Drew, not the other way around. Drew can sing the part- but he can't act/or speak (has the worst diction I have EVER heard on stage) the part. *shudders at memories of his Mark*
I totally didn't interpret that as being an avoiding Drew thing until her last post.
Why, Tiff, I stated specifically that I was planning my trip around NOT seeing him. I'm SURPRISED at you!
not really. I'm just trying to get around the question of shady grammar on my part.
Yeah, I'm sure its very understandable for her first post to be interpretted as wanting to see him... however, the idea that someone might actually want to see Drew Lachey in Rent is so incredibly, outrageously unfathomable, impossible, and preposterous to me that I naturally assumed (which isn't a good thing- it makes an ass of you and me) she was trying not to see him. :P
See? Sometimes assumptions are good things!
