Do you know when any of the original cast is leaving?

There may be one slight change in casting come July. Someone is to leave the Drowsy cast to do a Kander & Ebb musical. In fact, that person is rehearsing the Kander & Ebb musical during the day, and performing Drowsy at night.

Oh, Curtains? So they'll be doing the LA run?
Damn you and your secrecy.

Can't be too careful on the net, you know? :)
Anyway, it's scheduled for a Los Angeles run and the Broadway half of the producing team is already looking out for open slots in NYC, so the production could end up on Broadway by the year's end.
Oooh, wait a second that's not row of seats situated over a pool of lava is it?
I'm not surprised about someody leaving early from "Drowsy." They were lucky to keep the L.A. cast 100% together for all those months in between searching for a Broadway theatre.
At least they got 'em "in tact" for a few months!
I'm curious as to who will be bowing out early though.
I'm guessing Sutton, Beth or Danny... but it's ONLY a guess.
I'd be really surprised if it were Sutton or Beth. Beth is getting HUGE Broadway recognition for the first time really, and Sutton keeps talking about how much she LOVES her job because it's an ensemble piece, how she has so much going on with getting married later this year, etc.. Also, I can't particularly see Sutton in a Kander & Ebb musical.
This is a secret? I won't name names in case it is, but it's kind of silly, since someone from CHAPERONE had a big part in the reading a few months back.

It's already been announced that Edward Hibbert (sp?) is slated for "Curtains." No need for the secrecy -- he's the one who's leaving.
I didn't think it was a secret.
Good to know!
Regardless of who it is, I'm sure this was all worked out well in advance, while Drowsy went "on hold" looking for a Broadway theatre.
Actors on the "wanted" list often have gigs lined up.
I'm glad at least he got to open "Drowsy" before catching up with the "Curtains" cast in L.A.
He's a busy guy.
Is Edward Hibbert's performance crucial to the show or can I see it without him?
Not crucial. The show will still be great even after he leaves!

Edward Hibbert will do the run of Curtains at the Ahmanson and then return to Drowsy until Curtains finds a home on Broadway.

^^ Agreed. Whenever they were onstage together I always knew I would enjoy the scene. Tottendale and Underling are great characters. I hope the man replacing Hibbert (his name escapes me)does well with the role.
