Where will they put them all? Did they hold seats in reserve?
Looks like I'll be watching The View more often now.
"Broadway is back on daytime!" - Rosie.
AH! I love Beth Leavel. It's such a great show. I wish they'd set it up better for the audience.
And I love the way they designed that lamp/spotlight contraption. Very clever.
that was fantastic!
and 2 theatre items on the show today--heaven!!

I love Beth Leavel and I love Rosie for putting her on Daytime TV to do her thang.
Offically in love with Beth Leavel and Bob Martin. Just saying....lol
just saw it here on the west coast. it was wonderful. I especially liked the makeshift set. looks like a few dollars went into that. although the audience didn't really seem too jazzed with the performance.
I do have a question though, does Beth Leavel usually hold out that note at the end of the song, I guess in the show, and not on the CD? that was a nice touch. I liked it.
What time was it on on the West coast? I think I missed it. :-/

Wow! My take was completly different. I thought the audience was more enthusiastic than usual about this performance. They applauded during Beth's long note and was estatic about recieving the tickets to the show. I believe though that Beth has been holding the note during live performances(Broadway on Broadway, Stars in the Alley) although I haven't seen the show since april.
All I meant by that was just that the audience on Regis and Kelly seemed to understand the jokes more and were laughing during the song. I couldn't really hear any laughing on the View performance which made it sort of hard to watch... maybe the audience audio just wasn't coming through on the broadcast though.

I think the interview with Georgia Engel (sp?) was painful. She seems kind of like a hard person to interview because of her voice and the fact that it doesn't seem like she understands a lot of what they were saying. I have to say though, it seems like Rosie just came in and took over that show - which isn't a bad thing. Just way different feeling.
she hasn't taken over completely. Joy still chimes in every now and then.
WHAT DID THEY PERFORM???

wow, i want to go to "The View" now
that is awesome they gave away free tickets!
WAIT - doesn't the View tape in LA? So that means the cast had to fly to LA and back?
no. The View is taped in NYC along with Regis and Kelly, Tony Danza and a bunch of other talk shows.

Actually, I agree with CATS, it felt like the audience was lost with Beth's performance. Just not much laughing, yes, they loved her note at the end and applauded enthusiastically when Rosie announced they were getting free tickets, but that song out of context just doesn't make much sense. You have Bob Martin talking thru her performance and commenting on it and I'm sure that also confused the audience. But it was great seeing Drowsy given a national audience, Broadway definitely deserves it.
Rosie also mentioned going with Barbra Walters to see Elaine Stritch the night before, so yes, does sound like Broadway is back on TV.
Again - what was performed?
that was fantastic!

What were they?
Capn, Bob Martin and Beth Leavel performed an abbreviated "As We Stumble Along" just as it was performed on Regis and Kelly only with a better set this time around.

Actually, Tony Danza has been cancelled (he had a lot of Broadway on his show, as he considers himself a song and dance man). Rachael Ray now tapes in NYC.

I received tickets to The View in the mail a few weeks ago...and the tickets were for today! I don't remember how the audience reacted to the performance because I was focused on watching the song, but it was great! The seats for Drowsy were for the middle of the mezzanine - right, center and left. At The View they give away these great messenger type bags with The View logo on it and it was fun to see all the people in the theater with them! It was a fun day and I'm so glad that Rosie is bringing Broadway to The View!
