Hi, I'm a student and we need to audition for our show, with songs that we want to be included in it. (A variety show essentially). I have invited a gorgeous girl to do a duet: now I need to find a song. She is mostly untrained with a beautiful, soft, cutesie voice. Definitely not a confident belter... I have a powerful belt but can sing like her if song required it. What would suit us?

"What You Don't Know About Women" from City of Angels would fit the bill. Definitely works for cutesy and doesn't really need a belter. You might also consider "If Mama Was Married" from Gypsy, but that may need a belt from bother singers.

- 'Maybe' from Next to Normal requires somewhat of a strong singer (Natalie's part) along with complementary phrases from a not so challenging part in the song (Diana).

Some Things Are Meant To Be is always beautiful, and has one more belty singer and one more soprano.

"I Don't Know His Name" from She Loves Me maybe? One part is more soprano and the other is lower/"belty."

We ended up doing 'You love who you love' from Bonnie and Clyde :)
