Wishing Ariana the best. I do hope the production moves forward because I was very excited to see what Marianne Elliott would do with the show. She's the real draw for me.
Wow 10/10 opening. Congrats to everyone for pulling that off! I only wish I could have made out every single lyric, but will definitely be rewatching that one!

I wonder if it would be too confusing to just have designated performances that are call-out friendly. That way ticket-buyers can choose the experience they want and the production can be prepared either way. Straddling the line like this just seems like a headache for everyone.
I think she'll be great! She's an incredibly talented and seasoned performer and, if the Tonys are smart, they'll make good use of that. Years ago on an episode of Watch What Happens Live, I remember her talking about her love for Bette Midler and how excited she was to see her in Hello, Dolly! So she's been at least a casual Broadway fan for some time.
I keep asking myself why the call-outs seemed to work so well in 2001 but seem like such an impossible thing to contend with today and I think you nailed it, Betty. That's exactly what I've been thinking but haven't been able to articulate as clearly and efficiently. I actually saw a local production of Rocky Horror last Halloween that allowed the call-outs and it was absolute chaos. I can only imagine what it's like at this scale. It has to be insanely difficult for those putting on the show...
Just got to the section on her stepping into Chicago. In the book, Liza says that “Nowadays” was converted into a solo for Roxie alone during her run. I thought that was the case for “I Am My Own Best Friend,” not “Nowadays.”
I think that’s pitch perfect replacement casting. Good for the show and good for Jojo. I’m loving her commitment to musical theatre and she’ll sing the hell out of it.

Hopefully he keeps popping up this season."I didn’t realize that’s who that was! I loved him! I found his scene very moving as it provided some of that Mickey comfort.
