I wasn't lucky enough to win the lottery and attend last night's first preview. It seemed like the amount of tickets given away during the in-person lottery were very minimal. Was anyone able to attend and share their thoughts?

I was there last night. I thought it was a really enjoyable night of theatre, and I think it will only improve over the course of its run. The play manages to balance very heavy material and very broad humor. A lesser director may not have been able to balance the different tones that the play requires. While Lupita Nyong'o's role may have the largest emotional arc, this play is very much an ensemble piece, and all five women are exceptionally talented. It felt a little long, but I'd expect they'll tighten it up over previews. I was very excited by what I saw last night!

Bump!

Is anyone aware of some kind of student discount or do they offer rush already?

TodayTix lottery and standby.

The run is sold out, and rush would be based on availability, so even if they offered it, there wouldn't be any.

That kinda sucks, but happy for them they managed to sell out. I didn't know Lupita Nyong'os appearance would attract so many people to coming to the theatre?

It's going to Broadway... maybe they'll have rush for that run.

They just announced today that they're going to have a $20 ticket lottery in the Public Theater lobby, beginning November 17.
