"Also, the actors aren't wearing body microphones, so I'm not sure how Richard Griffiths could have had microphone problems."
Interesting point!
For anyone interested, tickets for opening night on 9/25 at 6:45pm are available on telecharge right now. I bought one!
A film critic for the Oneida Dispatch offered some "commentary" on Equus within a review he did for a film featuring Emma Watson titled Ballet Shoes. The link to the entire article is below, but this is what he has to say about the show:
"Watson's course to legitimacy was wholly the opposite of that taken by Daniel Radcliffe, who in 2007 luridly broke with his Harry Potter role in an ingeniously manufactured publicity event emphasizing his nudity in the revival of "Equus," a play that there was no genuine aesthetic reason to revive other than its certainty with the naked Radcliffe as a box office smash-which it was in London and will be when it opens on Broadway Sept. 25 at the Broadhurst Theatre."
Excellent Ballet Shoes makes its 'pointe'

hey guys im new here but I hope you can help me, I have tickets to equus but im nervous about bringing my little brother (im 24) he's 16. im not worried about him seeing daniel naked but as far as anna camp, I want to ask: does she simply show breasts? of can you see her pubic hair too? I ask this because my friend just said 'you realize shes naked and most girls nowaday are shaved too' and man that would be awkward explaining that to my brother... any info/advice would be great thanks so much
I can't believe I'm answering this, but it is my thread, so here it goes.
Yes, both Daniel and Anna are completely naked. I can't recall exactly if Anna was shaved/trimmed, but honestly, it was only for a few minutes and the nudity is completely necessary for the plot. Just explain to your 16 year old brother that there is nudity at the end of Act 2 just so he won't be shocked when it happens.
The play is absolutely brilliant and I hope your brother is mature enough and intelligent enough to fully understand it.

yeah sorry if my question seemed crude. allow me to explain. he just turned 16 and is a young 16, naïve. and just last week he got his hands on a maxim that talked about the issue of shaving and stuff and I said no that's only something magazine smutty girls do. so I have this vison of me sharing this beautiful artistic play with him then beaing confronted with a girl that looks just the same as the magazine girls I called smutty. I don't know maybe im crazy but I feel if agirls going to present herself artistically nude as a women she should look like a women not a centerfold (to me shaved =porn natural=artistic). so in that light I still wish someone could tell me what she looks like, and also how graphic the scene is. is the lighting harsh? thanks and again sorry for the crudity of my questions
it is very dim lighting and very tastefully done...

Are there any discounts for this show? TDF? Student rush? I might just bite the bullet and buy a back mezzanine seat for $70 or so.
i know it was on TKTS last week...you could try that!

anyone know any biographical info about anna camp, who is she, she doesn't even have a wiki. and here's my one complaint about equus, jill mason is always cast older looking then she should be. from jenny agutter in the 70's to anna camp now why can't they cast someone who looks daniel radcliffes age? lol

Thanks Without!!! That really does help. I really want to see the show and I don't care where I sit.
RentBoy, do not hesitate getting tickets. Go as soon as you can. This show will get rave reviews across the board and it will be much harder to get tickets after September 25th.
I can't believe you answered that question either.
That question was creepy. The posters subsequent followup and rationalization is even weirder.
WAT, you did a nice job answering that question very tastefully.
The character of Jill is a few years older than Alan, so it would make sense to cast her older.

Wow, that question took me aback.
Anna Camp burst onto the NY theater scene in the 2nd Stage production of Theresa Rebeck's THE SCENE, opposite Tony Shalhoub and Patricia Heaton.
Then she did THE COUNTRY GIRL.
