I posted a review in the other thread...anyways...
I really enjoyed the show. I thought it was well done and had great singing. I thought that Sarah had a great mix of speak singing and actual belting. Her voice was great and I could understand everything she said, which I loved. I was in the last row of the theater, so its nice to be able to understand. Def. go see this show. I didn't think the synths were bad at all. In fact, I thought there was an actual orchestra down there, until I read your post. It sounded real to me, I thought it sounded more modern than the actual CD. I preffered all the performances today to the ones on the OBC. I think Mandy has this werid head-voice type singing, which I don't really like. I much preferred Keith Byron Kirk's stronger voice. He def. soared on the "money" song.
A couple questions regarding the show...
What was the show curtain suppose to be? Was it suppose to be like a larger image? it seemed like it was meant to look like something, but i couldnt place it. Although I did like how the curtain didn't cover the intire stage, that was a cool touch.
Also, who was the girl that sang "another suitcase in another hall"? Did she come back throughout the show or was that her only moment? Seemed kind of random, though the song was really good.
I thought the show was a embarrasment for all concerned. However.. I understand ther has been a complete cast change since I have seen it. Glad you enjoyed it.
Yeah, I kind of wish I could have seen your cast Dame. It sounds like it would have been interesting. Its seems funny that they went through all these rehearsal and stuff and didn't realize that the cast they had sucked, until a few weeks in.
