The Really Useful site lists an entr'acte as being part of the full song list for the show, yet I've never heard an entr'acte from EVITA. And it's not on any of my recordings either. Is this a typo or is there really an entr'acte that has never been recorded???

Posted: 7/9/04 at 5:29pmI absolutely do not know anything about Evita, except that it is an Andrew Llyod Webber musical and Madonna was in the movie. However, for some shows they do not put the entr'acte on the CD. For example, Thoroughly Modern Millie had an entr'acte, but it wasn't recorded on the CD. Don't ask me why, I wish they did!

Posted: 7/9/04 at 11:33pmI know, but Millie just has that one recording. Evita has so many. You would think that the Entr'acte would have been recorded on one of those CDs...

That is very odd. As far as I know, the second act of EVITA just starts. No Entr'acte, just on with the show. I'm pretty sure of this, having seen a production of the show a few years ago. Maybe, at one time, there was an Entr'acte, and it had been cut from the future recordings and licensed production materials. Who knows?

Posted: 7/10/04 at 12:56amYes. EVITA does have an Entr'acte. If I recall correctly, it's mostly the dance break from the "What's New Buenos Aires" number. I've never heard it included on any recording of the show.

Posted: 7/10/04 at 2:03pmI think an entr'acte was written... I've seen three regional productions of Evita, and one of them did the opening bars of "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" and then went into a little drum, strings, piano diddy and then into "Buenos Aires"-esque entr'acte. The other shows did not include entr'actes.

It's an operetic political drama. if you wanna copy and paste (and I must)
The musical brings to life the dynamic, larger-than-life persona of Eva Peron, wife of former Argentine dictator, Juan Peron. Beginning with the young ambitious Eva, the production follows her methodic rise to sainthood in her homeland. The story tells of the enormous wealth and power she gained and the means by which she became the beloved Evita.
