They've only put out 1 press release (about Chase Brock). This is just a BroadwayWorld story, not an official announcement.

Is this the first time they've mentioned that they might be cutting the intermission to make it a 90 minute show? I found that to be kind of surprising.

If you think this is bad, just wait until the Tony's. They'll try to steal the spotlight from all of the winners. Seriously -who opens a show the week of the Tony's? I lost what little sympathy I had left for this $65 million disaster.

I bet the "cutting the show to an intermissionless 90 minute production" is due to the fact that they can't write an entirely new Act II and add new flying sequences in the two-three weeks that they will have to rehearse all the new material.

therefore, by make the show 90 minutes means that the show will probably end with the Spiderman vs. Green Goblin fight and then everything before it will be expanded, expanded and expanded even more.

I have a feeling that if they do make it a 90 min. show...their going to try to pull having two shows a day or something.

It's probably a good thing they cut the geeks... their purpose in the show seemed too close to a traditional Batman story, repeated every few generations.

A handfull of homeless kids talk about Batman, telling and retelling Batman stories in their own unique style until the line between "real Batman" and "imagined Batman" is blurred.

I'm done with Spider-Man. It was fun to watch the train wreck. I saw the show myself. But this has really gotten out of control. I would not be surprised if, with the new creative team, the show is at $100 million. I'm just bored. There is absolutely no way this show can be fixed--- WHILE it's already on Broadway. It's not art. I think at one point it was, but it's so far removed from art that now it's just waste. Do you know how many GOOD shows could be funded with that money? You could have 20 Next to Normals. Just close the damn thing.

Making the show 90 minutes is an awful idea. I'm all for shortening the show, but not to one act. Cutting the Geek Chorus is going to shorten the show a bit, and change a lot of the plot. Hopefully eliminating the Geek Chorus and re-doing the story will make the show seem less like a piece of bad fan fiction.
