EXORCIST Directed by Rachel Chavkin coming Off-Broadway?

A casting notice has been put up for an UNTITLED CHAVKIN PROJECT slated to open Off-Broadway this fall. It reads:

”Seeking actors for the role of REGAN and possibly for a REGAN understudy.

Regan: she/her. MUST BE 18+ to believably play 10-12. Sweet and curious. Something mysterious is happening to her that is leading to horrifying swings in her personality. She is rapidly transforming and desperate to figure out what is going on. Ultimately Regan becomes a force with terrifying power.”

Sounds like THE EXORCIST, no? I know there was a production a while ago, but this seems like maybe it’ll be a new adaptation since they didn’t list a title or playwright in the breakdown.

Yeah, it has to be The Exorcist. Wasn’t this panned in London? Or maybe it’s a new version. We need more (good) horror-themed plays - they are so hard to do well. This could be great though.
