@ theatrefan9960, that's a great description, thank you. Sounds like he's still got it. I was wondering, since I saw him in London in I believe 2009, and he was pretty good. Not my favorite but very competent, text book Javert, in a very similar vein to Rob Hunt, the replacement Javert from the 2006 broadway revival. My two favorites are Hadley Fraser and Drew Sarich (Drew solely on his acting choices, not his massively inappropriate voice for the role). But I DO sincerely appreciate Earl.
I have noticed that when les mis alum take a long break and come back in different productions, that they are often disappointing….
