How was she in it?
Off-topic, but whatever happened to the Broadway-bound Kander/Ebb show, All About Us (I think that is what it was called), with Eartha Kitt and Shuler (sp?) Hensley?

Amazing beyond amazing. I have never seen an audience so enthralled with a performer in my life. She stood in front of the main curtain, sang and looked at the audience and demanded the attention of everyone-and she got it.
Seeing her in the show twice is always going to be a highlight for me-from now till the day I die.
She also succeeded Chita Rivera in Nine. I saw her - she was wonderful.

You can look her at objectively and say "Well, her voice is going, she's not the greatest actress, blah blah blah" but when you see her on stage you cannot look away. Seeing her live in Wild Party was astounding. I am so glad to have experienced it.
the five minutes she held the stage at the end of the show was worth any price. try to track down the footage from the 2000 drama desks she does "When It Ends" and the audience's reaction is befitting royality.
"she's not the greatest actress"
ummmm, yes she is

She was stunning. She hovered around the stage like a vamping ghost. She wasn't pulling focus, but you couldn't help but look at her. Her songs were perfectly tailored to her and were definitely highlights. A wonderfully talented cast all around. I wish Toni Collette would do more musicals. Also amazing and effortless.
An all around brilliant cast...rivals the original COMPANY for one of the best ensembles ever. When it gets a major revival--and it will, it may take time, but it will--that cast is going to be hard to top.
I was never a big fan of hers until I saw her in "Wild Party". Her voice was so strong and her control was amazing for a woman her age. I did see her again in "Nine" but it was "Wild Party" that made me an Eartha Kitt fan.
She also delivered a seismic 'I'm Still Here' in the London 'Follies'.
A living legend!

She was definitely the highlight of that production of The Wild Party. No one else even came close. The only caveat was that she didn't have enough to do. I had seen her in a nightclub act in the late 80's and that made me a fan forever.
