Sounds like I can't lose either way! Maybe I'll see what seating options are available for each show and go with the best seat. :)
Broadway Concierge, as far as plays go, I've only seen a few on Broadway. I saw Curious Incident, Hand to God, Noises Off, and King Charles III, and I loved them all for different reasons. In Pittsburgh, I have seen Disgraced, August: Osage County, One Man, Two Guvners, and The Diary of Anne Frank. I also liked all of those (though I liked Disgraced and August: Osage County rather more than the other two).
I LOVED Hamilton. Loved Fun Home. Loved *this* iteration of the Color Purple and the beautiful Deaf West production of Spring Awakening. I really enjoyed Pippin with Patina Miller and was wowed by the recent touring version of Cabaret. I've had tickets to the Broadway Across America series in Pittsburgh for about 17 years, and in that time I've at least liked most of what came through (notable exceptions are Sister Act, Flashdance, Ghost, Dirty Dancing, and the most recent Wizard of Oz).
So you see, I do have pretty eclectic tastes. I guess my tastes run toward the "serious with a message" somewhat--at least in the things that I love--but I also love a good frothy romp with a happy ending on occasion. At least if it is well structured and well-written.
Thanks to everyone for your help. This board has really enhanced my Broadway viewing this past year.
