Eden as Elphie in San Fran!

A buzz was going around 45th st, today outside of BKLYN that Eden is doing Elphie for the San Francisco run.
Anyone else hear this or know anything?

I have not heard of anything of this. She told people she wanted to take a brake but if this is true then I will be driving to San Fran I live just a couple of hours away. Have the tickets for San gone on sale yet. I have all my LA tickets but maybe the theatre will know. I can't buy untill I know for sure. San Fran is a theatre loving place so Im guessing they will want the star of the tour (personally I want Eden).

I heard several clips of Stephanie today and she sounded horrendous. I hope she performs the songs better than I heard them.

Actually, Eden was the best Elphaba I've seen
She really made the character her own to terrific results
And I saw her first night on for that character

nothing against Stephanie
but this came from a reliable source
and i agree Eden's Elphie is Top Notch
Stephanie's injurie in Toronto may have been more serious than reported
I wish both Green Girls the Best

can sombody explain whats going ON! why cant people accept that Elphaba is played by Stephanie J. Block. It seems like EVERY city the tour stops in theres rumors sombody else is going on. I dont get it! Steph is fantastic, the producers of wicked are LUCKY to have such talent!

whats there not to get? They are just rumors, Stephanie will play Elphaba despite this rumor in san francisco, period! Just ignore the rumors, the casts will resume as they are currently through the rest of the tour stops

Obviously Stephanie doesn't sound horrendous in the role since she was being considered to originate the role for the San Fran/Broadway run. On top of her getting the offer to do Liza in BFO, they wanted someone with more professional stage credits to their name... hence Idina coming in (I've only heard the latter a couple of times though, to the reason they didn't let Stephanie originate the role since she'd done the role in readings and workshops).

Personally, what audio I have heard of her (Stephanie) as Elphaba has left me in chills and I honestly can't wait to see her in St. Louis this winter.

well it was not a rumour
that Stephanie did not open in Toronto
Actresses are Human (well most of them)
and things happen
and Stephanie is an extremely Talented Woman
but if she is unable and Eden is available for SF
and she is cause BKLYN closes today
so be it

yea true, but i really just dont see it happening. Eden was asked the other day at the BKLYN Stage door what her upcoming projects would be and she said she was going to be taking a vacation back at home and then coming back to New York to hopefully get a job

I doubt that Eden will come to SF to do the run...though I HAVE heard that Saycon and Idina will randomly do performances here in Dallas...

Wow, I didn't realize the word clips was so confusing. And yes, she sounded terrible in Elphaba's big numbers. I hope she's gotten better. But then again, if you're seeing the tour, you'll end up seeing Jenna since Stephanie seems to only perform every other day. :)
