WOW! Well, I've already got my tickets for the San Fran run so regardless if it's Eden, Stephanie, Jenna or Kristy, I'm excited to see someone different in the role. I saw Idina during the San Fran, pre-Broadway trial.

does anybody ..not like eden? ::ducks to avoid objects being pelted at her::..

because i really don't. nothing against her as an actress, but her voice is so nasal that it just bugs me.

I think her voice works for BKLYN and Wicked. I've heard her sing other things and it has made me cringe.

I've heard her in Brooklyn and have heard clips of her as Elphaba and she's good. She does kind of screech a bit sometimes but it's not that bad. I don't think she's the greatest thing out there but you can't deny her talent.

Eden is an amazing singer and the cast recording for bklyn doesn't do her justice. I've seen her in bklyn twice and she blew me away (and she doesn't "screech"...if you see her live you'll see that). I'm happy for her, she's so talented and very nice too!

Not that I don't like Eden's voice, because I do, but wow. I feel really bad for Stephanie now. In al the interviews I've read she always says how she hates missing performances, and that's kind of sad because she never got to be Elphie in SF before because of the whole replacing-with-Idina thing, and now she can't even 'redeem' herself

Well, I hope she doesn't "screech" when I see her live if she does appear as Elphaba..."screeching" would be very disappointing.

She does in Brooklyn...but that's just cause of the music. In Wicked, she's fantastic.

On the BKLYN LIVE! CD, Eden does indeed do some screeching. It's sad because she sounded so amazing live. The woman is a real talent. I wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.

I loved seeing her live. I feel so bad that the BKLYN recording didn't capture a good performance from her. It's most noticeable in "Once Upon a Time" when she gets to the word "Never" during one of the verses. Very screechy.

TT, I completely agree with you...Eden does not screech. I know there are some parts on the bklyn cast recording that may sound like that but it is so much different live. I've listened to the cd many times so I obviously know what it sounds like and although I think Eden sounds great on the cd, she is even better live...she's AMAZING.

I've listened to my OBC of BKLYN once and put it away. I hated it. But I loved Eden live.
