Is there any way to buy the CD for Pasek & Paul's "Edges: A Song Cycle?" I've been searching and can't find anything but sheet music and youtube videos. Surely there must be a studio recording or something. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Unfortunate choice of title. I thought you were speaking of Elegies: A Song Cycle when I read the title.

I'm thoroughly convinced that A Song Cycle is now code for "We couldn't find a plot to weave our unrelated cabaret songs into"

The song cycle craze is getting a little annoying. But I've heard some fabulous things from and about "Edges."

having seen "Edges" live, I can tell you it's not very good. But there are some beautiful songs (especially "Lying There"), and I think what it is most exciting about it is the plethora of potential Pasek and Paul* have as writers, and when they have more concrete and focused themes/stories to musicalize, the sophistication that's already in their writing will really take off. and they're what? 25?

*how about THAT alliteration?
