Any BWWers planning to go to Edinburgh in August for the Fringe Festival?

Given what a crush I find myself having on TV's Craig Ferguson, I'm thinking I might fit in well with the Scottish men. And vice versa.

I'll be in Edinburgh in late August, but I think I'll miss the Fringe.

If you are there, Stage by Stage Academy has Songs for a New World, the UK premiere of A New Brain and Kit & the Widow and Fascinating Aida's Dillie Keane in Tomfoolery. Hopefully, something for everyone.
Just thought I'd mention it...

I'm certain it will prove to be a very exciting time. And wishing someone all the best.

Rest in peace, Iflitifloat.

I'm hoping to be covering the Fringe for Broadwayworld.com. Can't wait, got my plane booked and I'm staying with some friends in the centre of Edinburgh - should be great. Part of the experience is really everything outside of the shows; being with friends, taking in the sun, etc. Are you going Jose??

If I can find a hotel or B&B, I just might be there.

Rooms are already tight.

Third week in August, if anyone has housing suggestions.

I am told I am an extremely good cook, if that helps.

When I was in Edinburgh last year, I stayed at a small bed and breakfast in the "new" town. It was maybe a 10 minute walk to Princes Street. The house was nice, my room was small, but nice and sufficient for my needs (on the lower ground floor) and the breakfast excellent. The proprietors are very nice. There is a link below.

I actually played the lead in "Antigone" at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (my drama club was the only CT school to be accepted). On our days off, the cast checked out the Highlands, as well as the Royal Mile and beyond. Without a doubt the greatest experience of my entire life. I plan to go again very soon.

If you go, I hope you have a great time. Bring a camera, so that you never forget it.

I believe a few years ago, one organization did Romeo & Juliet from the nurse's point of view. Did anyone see that? Can anyone tell me about it?

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

Went to Edinburgh seven years ago and loved it.
Stayed in a hotel right across the street from Edinburgh Castle. Sorry can't remember the name. Would be so nice to go back.

I directed three productions at the Fringe back in 1991 but unfortunately I've not been back since. It was a great experience and I must make an effort to get back there.

Back in 1991 I almost made it to the Fringe Festival, friends had a show there. Unfortunately I got sick and had to cancel... have been wanting to go ever since... maybe next year.

i was supposed to perform there a few years ago...but for a few reasons, our show never made it over there. i'm still upset about it. we were a cast of 13 and there were about 3 people who couldn't go and the director felt that the show wouldn't be as good if it had to be recast re: Edinburgh Fringe Festival

My brother has a flat right on the Royal Mile, across from the Cathedral and pretty equal distance between the Castle and the Palace so great location. When he isn't using it (he acutally lives near London) he rents it out. I'm trying to find out if he has rented it yet for the festival but if he hasn't I'll post the info here.

If anyone is still looking for a place for the festival, my brother's flat is still available.

Here is a link to the management company's website who manages it for him. Lots of pictures too.

Thank you for that connection.

I'm inquiring eventhough I've already booked some accommodations. Your brother's flat is closer to things than what I already have arranged, but let's see what word I receive from the agent.

Jwaa, the edinburgh festival is the biggest arts festival in the world. it's comprised of the edinburgh fringe, international, film and book festival (um...and i think they have a tv festival as well). it's throughout the month of august; 3-29th.

it's all over the city. last year 1700 shows (theatre, comedy etc) performed.

the official website for the fringe festival is http://www.edfringe.com
